I felt the same way after the pressure plate issues I had.. I returned their clutch but didn’t have a choice on the bearing

    Simple stuff
For the people that have installed the hydraulic TOB:

    1) How is everyone setting the gab so the bearing is not riding on the clutch fingers all the time?
    2) Anyone peeked in to see if it is contacting and spinning after a normal bleed process? (I guess there's 3 different bleed methods: Pressurizing reservoir using a bleed pump, vacuum bleed from bleeder valve, 2 person method pump/close bleeder/pull clutch pedal up/open bleed and repeat).
    3) Or is it designed that when disengaged it actually pulls off the fingers?

    Thanks!

No. There wasn't even a discussion. He just said that I was the first to have one leaking on a Tacoma and that it was probably a "pinched seal"

    1. You can't adjust that.
    2. It will be contacting the fingers.
    3. It's going to contact the fingers.

Drove mine today and it's still like a new truck. We didn't adjust anything after install and the only thing I've noticed is that the engagement is on the low side with pedal release. What's the adjustment protocol? :notsure:

sorry for the delay. Here’s the dust cover for the clutch. You can see the side I’m holding goes against the transmission and that gasket seals against the hole on the side of the trans. It’s not leak proof by any means but should keep any rocks or dust out.

I too had a questionable shop do my install due to time restraints.. They claimed they resurfaced the flywheel, couldn't tell me to what, or if they had to use shims. I get an occasional rattle from the trans now, minor chatter as well. I'm really questioning their work when I noticed a new exhaust leak today and found one bolt missing from the header flange. Found two others that were loose, could turn them by hand. Now I wonder, if they couldn't torque those bolts right, what are the chances they torqued the flywheel, or the clutchmaster part right as well. Have yet to look inside yet, and really I don't have time to drop the tranny right now. I'm hopping itll last me a while until I can.. I swear you just cant trust most shops these days.

Other then that, I seem to have a slow pedal release. Have bleed multiple times. Emailed Kevin, he said that's the first he's heard of that. The release is pretty close to the floor, Kevin said that's designed that way so as clutch wears, moves up naturally. I went with their clutch kit as well, and for what I paid, not impressed. However, with the questionable shop that did the work, I wouldn't even trust them to take another look. Will tear into this in the summer time when I can afford some downtime. Tacomas, fun times.

This is why I'm glad I took the time to get with @6 gearT444E and do the install ourselves.
Mine is performing as expected and more importantly, it is no longer squeaking like an angry bird. :D

If they don't find it by the time the new seal comes in they're buying me a new one.

I'm not going to let them mess with the clutch. I'm going to have them reroute the hydraulic line away from the cat.

Which brings me to my next issue. When I first picked the truck up the clutch pedal was really easy to push in and cane out about the same. Pressure required has steadily been increasing over the past few days. Dis/engagement point is the same as far as I can tell but the "pedal feel" is changing. I'm wondering if it's the fluid breaking down/cooking in the line because it's resting on the whole freaking catalytic converter

Ok so cold, the clutch pedal is super soft. After 30 minutes if driving, clutch pedal is stiff as before.

Cooked hydraulic fluid confirmed in my eyes.

That’s an easy fix, just bleed the line and reroute the hose away from the cat

I'm just waiting for the new seal to come in so I only have to move and bleed it once.
