Anyone know where I can get a locking gas cap for my new Tacoma?

There are many, but they often trigger engine lights on Toyotas. I've yet to see a reliable unit.

Gas siphoning isnt common anymore. They simply drill the gas tank and drain it now.

I put one on my current vehicle years ago. Wasn't worry about people sealing fuel but it is a diesel and some neighborhood kids were stealing from cars to put in stolen dirt bikes. They did go for my diesel Jeep by the evidence left, cap laying on the ground in morning. Funny thing the bikes stopped running and the cops caught them.

Then I finally decided to get a locking cap when I was evicting a tenant for non payment of rent. She made several threats of things she would do so I decided it was a good investment. I can't imagine what sugar would do to a high pressure diesel injection pump.

I think a locking cap is a good line of defense for any vehicle that's always parked outside overnight. You just never know when someone might be upset with you for what ever reason even if you aren't the one being the jerk.

I bought one and I have been using it for about 4 years with no issues.

I even traded my 2016 taco for a 2019 and changed gas cap from old to new truck.

The modern vehicle has an anti siphon fill neck so if it is possible, it is very difficult to siphon the gas out.

It’s easier to punch a hole in the gas tank since the tank is a foot off the ground.

I saw a ford truck with spilled gas from the gas tank because someone tried to catch the gas once a hole a punch in but failed. All it did was leave gas all over the parking lot.

That's a shame. Owner has to have a row and pay for a new tank. No one gets any thing out of it but a headache. I'd be very upset if it was my truck.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I will send you the one I bought for mine for FREE (you pay shipping) No guarantee it will not trigger alerts -It did on mine.
I gave up on it after a few tries, Toyota must use a special seal on their OEM caps that the aftermarket guys can't duplicate.
