My pops got an undercoating from Ziebart and it’s had to go back like 4 Or 5 times to be reapplied since it just flakes off specifically in the wheel wells. I feel like washing your truck regularly and fluid film would be a safe easy bet but wtf do I know I’m an accountant lol

It makes connections very hard to disconnect, sometimes impossible with a few layers of it. Fasteners need to be chipped at to fit tools on them, and it doesn’t stick or seal well so water gets trapped behind it and Rots your frame. This video explains it very well. The man works on rusty salt belt cars all the time. https://youtu.be/nXvl9nt57Kg

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Been using using since I bought the taco. The dealer had a deal and knowing the rust issues figured it was good idea. Ziebart here is a PIA to work with. Toyota dealer inspected the frame a couple years ago and applied their film too and said it looks good. There is one spot I'm keeping my eye on since it looks like nothing sticks to the frame just behind the right front wheel where it appears the drain from washer fluid and windshield comes down. Wishing I noticed it much sooner and retrofitted some kind of hose to direct the water away from the frame.
I can't recommend Ziebart and have no experience with anything else.
