    Welcome to the Forum !!

Possible the electrical part of the ignition switch broke.

Pull out your lock cylinder look to see if the plastic switch is broken . The back part of the lock cylinder turns the electrical switch.

Like all plastic it gets brittle with age .

If that switch was removed in the past the tamper proof screws would have been replaced possible they loosened enough to make physical contact impossible.

Let us know what you find

The peice that the ignition cylinder clicks into snapped off so apparently I need a whole new assembly which isn’t easy to get. Anyone delt with this before?

I have changed a few over the years.

Not sure why your saying it is hard to get or are you meaning it is in a hard to get at location

Napa shows one that lists for $ 130.00 not sure just what your cost might be in your area .

Not knowing where you live it might be in stock or a few days a way

    Part # ECH KS603

Check for new at your dealer .

    Hunt for a used one.

That is the center of the switch have you cleaned out the rest of the broken parts ??

    Disconnected the the harness ??

If you need to go somewhere you can use a flathead on the ignition switch, but you need to keep the steering wheel unlocked somehow also.

That’s not a part you can buy separately. You’re going to need to replace your entire ignition cylinder assembly.

All I can find is it’s referred to as

    “Ignition Lock Cylinder Barrel Rod”

Amazon has a few listed for Toyota and Lexus.
I guess you might get lucky and see one that closely matches yours?
    But that’s a long shot.

I’m going to say, you’ll need the whole ignition.
But then again, I’m not too familiar with the actual ignition itself.

My Locksmith friend was gone till I got finished work.

I wanted to touch base with Him If there is a part between the lock cylinder and the ignition switch my dealer Parts Manager does not show it for the OP`s Truck year.

If it is not a part of the ignition switch it is not a part of the Steering Column .

I guess you buy the whole Truck to buy one ??

I got mine, just the broken piece, from a pick n pull.

If he got something like this, he would be set

Maybe that’s what you were meaning, don’t know.

I couldn’t ever figure out how to get the part off the steering column, so I just replaced the rod.

Honestly thinking of keeping the push button its pretty dope. But still need to install that new housing, only way to unlock the steering wheel. right now the broken bit is placed back in between housing and ignition cylinder. Hopefully the steering doesn’t lock up on me while I’m driving lol

From what I can see to get it off the steering column it has security bolts you need the turn with a punch and hammer. Hopefully that’s all it takes. Or drill the security bolts out I guess

You can just use the rod out of the new part you get in Monday if you want.
