@penbergm 10/10 poem lol. What’s next week looking like? Meeting says 4, realistically out at 5 and start at 6 and it’s already dark. If I can get the CVs situation and make/weld on some steering stops I can at least wheel. I need to make this crossmember before I use my duals again tho. I have all the raw materials ready as well as the bulletproof mount. Just gotta make something. I can prob weld but it’s 7 weeks later and my wrist is legit still swollen and purple. It’s probably going to need to be rebroken and I’m not looking forward to that...

Whoever said you can take 18 hours and work a job is full of shit

I’m just going to sleep in my shell. It’s a short bed but I haven’t mounted a tool box back there yet so I fit diagonally.

If you’re free Friday morning, stop in Leander & we can try to get it done with access to power tools & 20T press. I’m off & plan to head to HF early afternoon.

Cross member be damned, I got the skids on.... mostly. Should've been sleeping but I was too anxious.

I slept in my passenger seat last year. Did it again. Not too long ago. It's not bad now that I have a touch screen with a DVD player. :)

The tranny skid requires two holes to be drilled into the cross member. I didn't drikl the 2nd hole because how close it is to the side and because it wouldn't line up with the top where I have to put the what ever it's called... It's like a nut but it's rectangular and has grooves to bite into the metal on one side.
The transfer case skid bolts to the cross member but misses the hole on one side. The instructions said I'd need to drill 2 more holes in the frame, but maybe that was for the earlier 1st gens. It lined right up to all 4 holes on the frame rails. Was a PITA to do the front driver side bolt. Had to temporarily move the hard brake lines out of the way and squeeze my hand inside the boxed part of the frame, halfway up my forearm. Not fun.
