Between losing WAAF and now after this road trip, I'm really glad I have SXM

Whoa just seeing this now :(

I used to listen to them a lot. When they started broadcasting on two stations, I could barely get either one.

WAAF was the only station we would get at our place in savoy when I was growing up. Only entertainment on a shitty day for miles, and when you're a kid with no car...

Sad to see that. I don't really care about christian radio one way or another, can always turn the channel, but I do find an awful lot of them compared to what I remembered.

Looks like WAAF is alive, just not broadcasted on FM

    A Message To Our Listeners

It’s been a pretty tough week around here as we can confirm that the stories you’ve heard are true.

We were informed late Tuesday afternoon that our company sold our primary 107.3 frequency to a broadcast company called EMF. The new company will take over programming on 107.3 as of this Saturday. This Friday will be the last day for all of us on the air in any capacity…but we wanted to answer some of the questions that have been asked here and in other forums.

The new 107.3 will not be a new version of WAAF nor run by any of us at WAAF. WAAF will continue to be heard on the RADIO.COM app, through our website WAAF.com, on smart speakers like Google Home and Amazon Echo by saying “Hey Google” or “Hey Alexa…play WAAF”, and over the air on our two existing HD2 channels in Boston -- 104.1 HD-2 and 93.7 HD-2.

The Big Gig is indeed still happening as planned. As for the final two days on 107.3…we will be sharing memories spanning our 50 years with many voices from both the past and present. We will be joined by some special guests throughout the two days and will be replaying some of our favorite artist interviews, in-studio performances, and on-air moments mixed in with the rock that has defined WAAF for 50 years.

We invite you to crank it up with all of us one last time and share in our goodbye.

I stopped really listening much if ever to the radio around 1991-2. Back in the 80s AAF had a lot more variety though and Liz Wilde AKA The Cream Cheese Bitch at night was played often when I was working as a teenager.

Yeah sad to see WAAF go out so suddenly. I haven't really listened to it as much over the years but I remember the days of Rocko (R.I.P.) as well as Opie and Anthony. Listened to them sign off last night.

I had a pair of these on the 150 and just one pair was bright as hell. But, like i’ve said before, anything worth doing is worth overdoing so I added another pair. They’re all Rigid Dually Hyperspots.

Like, literally came and took a pig? Or is that a saying I'm unfamiliar with? Either way, nice truck!
