Where/how did you end up mounting your solenoid box?

Yeah, I think so.

I new I wanted synthetic rope which this has, and for a price that couldn't be beat.

As for fitment, the space is very tight. The gear lever actually rubs a bit on the top plate but it does engage. The space could not be 1 mm shorter. The only real issue with any winch in this bumper is going to be where and how to mount the solenoid. There is no space to mount it on the winch itself.

I have yet to use the thing, other than to wind the rope on the drum. But I have friends who have this model. They rave about it, that made the choice easier. It was the right choice for me.

 

where did you mount your solenoid?

 

Haven't yet, just had it connected temporarily to install the rope. That was one reason for asking 1welder where he mounted his solenoid.

One issues is that the cables the come with the winches are not very long. there are 3-4 gauge cables that run between the winch and the solenoid. Almost any mounting location under the hood is going to require extra length cables.

This a project for next weekend.

Took the solenoid box apart and just have the plug secured to my grill. No more box. Not sure if it's the best way, but it works and it's hidden.

Blue- I haven't used the winch yet. I know one thing, for the price it's gonna have to be pretty shitty not to be worth the money.

Hmm. Hadn't thought of that. Were you able to do it with the supplied cables only? Does the plug come completely off that plastic cover?

Getting my bumper powder coated tomorrow then it's time to put that beast on. Along with my brand new Billy's in the front! It's gonna be sic!!

 

Yeah I just used the cables that came with it. Just take the screws out of the solenoid and the plug is held in with a bulk head fitting. My plug comes up between the bottom of my grill and the top of my bumper. Right behind my the bar.
