Need help on what i need for Andriod auto upgrade. Guy at best buy was saying i need about 400 dollars worth of accessories to make it work.

I thought all i needed was the Maestro Datalink and the dash kit was what i needed for my TRD OR 2016 that has entune.

WOuld like some input and would appreciate the help!

OR show me your set up and what you all needed.

You will need a new radio as the entune does not support android auto.

You can go with any aftermarket one that supports android auto, then you need the dash kit and the steering wheel control kit.
    OR
you can just get a android headunit like I did.

    Check out this thread

The unit I used has full android, android auto, and apple carplay. It plugs right in to the factory harness and everything works.

Just an FYI, I bought a Joying based on your experience. The screen failed almost instantly. No problem, just exchange. The only option was to send it back to China on my dime (I purchased from the Los Angeles warehouse) and they'll send an exchange unit once the receive my defective unit. However, Joying as a company is shut down because of the coronavirus situation.

My situation is unique and I'm still working my way through it but I feel like Joying will make good. In hindsight I would have went with a place like Crutchfield and avoid a lot of issues I'm having.

the markup on what you need is ridiculous. Go to crutchfield they will list out the kit with all the adaptors etc. I think i saved close to 70 dollars sourcing the adapters and masetro kit myself (from ebay and Amazon) compared to what crutchfield was offering.

$400 is high. I think I spent a little over $200 on the Maestro, harness, USB cable, antenna cable, GPS antenna cable, reverse cam cable, dash kit. I have a 2019. Not sure what of that is required for a 2016 but as others mentioned, Crutchfield will show you everything you need.

you will need to connect the new stereo harness with the adaptor to the truck. this isnt plug and play and if you dont feel confident just pay someone but im color blind and i was able to get it done so no one has an excuse.

That does suck. I have yet to have any issues, but like with every product, there will be some failures. I am hopeful that china will get a handle on the virus soon for their peoples sake, then I hope they get a new unit out to you.
