I'm fairly new to the board, but I've seen these talked about here and there. Decided I wanted to go ahead and get a set myself. Just passing along, I got them for $86.36 using a 20% code and free ground shipping. Just for anybody who was maybe on the fence or anybody who might be interested.

    https://www.cjponyparts.com/redline...plus-kit-toyota-tacoma-2016-2020/p/212701502/

Use code LEAPYEAR at checkout for 20% and choose the free ground shipping option.

I have had the Redline tuning strut supports installed on my Tacoma for 2 years now. Great strut and great company. My only take away is they provide hood height almost exactly as the original prop rod. The ones from Spiker engineering appear to give quite a bit more additional height.
If I had to do it over again, I'd go with the ones from Spiker.
    Just fyi

I have the Redlines installed on my Tacoma. They work great. Very easy to install.

the hood rod doesnt seem that inconvenient. is this for people with back problems who have trouble lifting the hood?

Haha... definitely not essential, but for me a kinda-fun gadget addition. Guess it’s like getting different radio knobs or colored letter inserts for tailgate, or who knows what else in the world of Tacoma aftermarket add-ons...

I just think its interesting, my other vehicle is an older car and ive had to replace the hood struts so it surprises me when people replace a no maintenance part with something that will need to be replaced in the life span of the vehicle.

Well, I also installed a set of those Amber grille lights, a different shelf for glove box, a different muffler, and have a leveling kit with larger tires. Lots of choices to have some fun and enjoy the ride.

Hood struts are on my list of future mods. Gonna go with the Spikers due to the higher lift.

    Yea, I'm a sissy.
