Maybe if you get the part number of the connector bridge for the sliding roof harness, MESO could add it to the parts and up the price. Prevent the T harness dangle and get to look OEM. No wires pulled (maybe) since they should be taped not flopping about or preventing a bulge behind the panel.:burp:

Interesting. The sunroof model has that extra connector and extra retention, mine wasn't like that

Well after some quick research, it's not for the sliding roof. It's the Safety Connect (On Star type) IN2 connector.

Safety connect? I had the extra connector and as far as I know I don’t have safety connect. :notsure: Is there anything else it could be for? Or did I just find out I have a feature I didn’t know I had?

Haha yeah I was gonna say....I don’t even have a sunroof. Not enough head clearance for a tall guy like me

Toyota some times prewires stuff even without the features.

Post a picture of your roof "box". Toyota is famous for installing the harness to nowhere...no special harness for features not installed.

Also part of the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System, Pre-Collision System...(camera)

I’m loving my puddle lights so far! Kinda wish I had more reasons to go out and drive at night just to get to use them more. Overall it was a really fun project...except for the drivers side boot :frusty:

Here is the write up on taking the switch apart and dimming the output of the light with a bit of window tint.
    IMG_20200222_220011.jpg
Use a small screw driver on all of this. First pry off the white cover. You will see how it clips in, but just need to use this corner and it will pop off.

    IMG_20200222_220124.jpg
Now pry on each side where you can see the clips that hold the plastic that is the cradle for the circuit board.
    IMG_20200222_220046.jpg
Now remove the front of the switch but carefully prying on the side tabs that hold it in place. These tabs are clearly delicate and would be easy to break, so take your time.
    IMG_20200222_220210.jpg
With the face of the switch out, again pry on the sides of the white plastic that holds the black lever inside. This is also delicate, so be patient.
IMG_20200222_220405.jpg place a small piece of tint down the center of the switch and trim to accommodate the piece of plastic that extrudes from the side.
    IMG_20200222_220509.jpg
When you put the face of the switch back in, make sure the black lever goes under the white plastic in the back so it moves up and down as you press the switch.

The switch is delicate plastic and you need to take it slow. Sometimes using two screwdrivers on both sides would be easier of you can manipulate them.

what you don’t drive your truck from the backseat like I do...lol.

I got long alien arms though so I can reach the steering wheel when my seat back is on the other side of the b pillar.

And let’s be honest the only real cure for us tall guys is another 12” inches of cab height, not 6, 12! I don’t even wanna scrape my head on the ceiling.

So how did your install go?... laughed, cried, used lube... :yay:

Not sure why everyone is having a hard time with the boot... it's not just for him :sawzall:
    IMG_0291.jpg
So couldn't figure out why one of the lights wouldn't work... when you see it :annoyed:
    IMG_0294.jpg

So I resolved it. Cut, solder, shrink and done. Really didn't want to bother @MESO wait for a harness etc, etc...
    IMG_0296.jpg
    IMG_0297.jpg

And done. Couldn't be happier with the lights so much I went and ordered the switch! I really like how it bounces off the badge at night.

Nice catch. I didnt see it until I looked at your pic fixing it. I would have likely just popped the pins out of the plug and swapped them. I also have pin removal tools though so it makes it easier but can still be a PITA to get them to release.

Yeah I have some thin picks and stuff and worked at it for an hour... just said f*ck it as it's just a little solder and shrink no biggie.
