    Spring indeed!
It rained yesterday (finally) and today is bright and sunny! My pear, nectarine, and one of my peach trees is staring to leaf out.
They are all younger trees and clearly don't know the routine yet. It's gonna get cold and windy and those trees may learn a lesson.

Toilets are always fun! I try to do my own plumbing also, unless the work is critical, like soldering joints inside a wall or some such.
It is satisfying to repair your own stuff.

Are you getting in shape for your summer hiking? Shedding the extra pounds of winter?
Do you have any hiking plans laid out?

I planted a witch hazel ,3 going on 4 years . Didn’t do so well where I put the first time( think I got strangled by ground cover roots. put it in a different spot to recover for a transplant this spring. Last summer it had great big beautiful leaves ( no blooms) , certain that it would do well out front .
went out back on dog dookie patrol and noticed that the fecking deer had stripped it down to one singular limb .it had rebounded so awesomely and I’m really discouraged.
I worked so much about my Arborvitae that I forgot about the other .

And I use this ( highly recommend)

I'm afraid my apple trees are gonna blossom and then we'll get a freeze.
    Ugh.

    No plans yet, but yeah.
Need to do some hiking.

That is disappointing. I would be bummed. That thing looks like Charlie Brown's X-mas tree. I think I would start over with a new witch hazel.

Ya' know, deer taste pretty good. I think @StayinStock runs a deer eradication service.....

Yep, that's how it works. We typically see blossoms, freezing temps, then wind. Clears the fruit trees quite well.

I am going to get another one. I just decided that before I read your reply. I will keep the old one but just stay vigilant With it. Then I will have two they get like 10 feet tall and 10 feet around or more beautiful when they mature

You certainly improve your odds with two plants. How long to maturity?

2nd gen because the 1st gen just looks poor as this stage of the game. I can't look poor like I drove Josh the dishwasher's truck to Applebee's to pickup his bird.
