Car-less for a year.

Next week marks the day that I crashed my car, and haven't had one since.

It depresses me knowing how much I've missed out on by not having a car, how many opportunities I've missed and jobs I could have had. It really blows, and if I could do it all over again I would.

I'm kinda just ranting, but it really is the worst feeling. haha.

I always hoped that someone would have a car in their garage they didn't really want or need that ran and they would let me work off or something. Damn that dream. lol. And now that I might be getting a job soon, I have no way to make the 10 mile drive, and the bus stop isn't for miles from here. I can already tell half of my paycheck is going to go straight to someone else's gas tank. FML

Anyone else in this situation?

 

Been there, done that. Only I had a job and rent, didn't make enough over rent to buy anything for 3 years. Do yourself a favor and get a bike. You can get them really cheap at most second hand stores.

 

I'd love a bike. I'd probably end up spending the same amount on an old civic though, which is my ideal car for now until I can afford my Taco.

 

Bike as in pedal kind. Not motorcycle.

 

I've driven more than I've ridden a bicycle in my lifetime, I'd rather not go back to that

 

Nobody wants to, but a good old 10 speed will increase your reasonable travel distance by about 5x.
