When you guys installed the negative terminal, did you have to split the ground wire and purchase that additional connector SDHQ recommended (SDHQ-02-3003-U1-E)? Or how’d you guys go about it? Thanks.

I forget now. I believe I crimped a new connector on, but don't quote me.

Just did the same, thank you. Need to wire up a disconnect switch for the winch now.

A buddy of mine sent me this picture of his winch cable that he discovered while working on some other wiring.

Smittybilt winch hooked up the the blueseas 6006 kill switch. I’ve read that having the winch hooked straight to the battery wouldn’t be an issue, but found a guy on the forums that made a mount for the switch so figured some good insurance for the battery wouldn’t be dead after a month of sitting in between driving isn’t a bad idea.

Do you happen to have link to the switch mount? Did you have to change the terminal rings on your winch cable ?
