Any SR5 That don't come with keyless entry?

Just picked up a fairly new 4k mile 2019 SR5 2wd. I tried to search best I could and only found results talking about the sr not having some package option.

Only key I got was a plain no button with an h stamped on it.

 

Are you positive its a Sr5?

Edit: Just looked at the 2019 brochure, it all showed Sr5 to have keyless entry standard.

 

Yeah 100% I checked the VIN against Toyota Vin checker and it has the right badging, chrome rear bumper, chrome front trim, led fog lights with DLR, adaptive cruise control.

 

Talk to a dealer parts tech, they will tell you if they can match a key with fob for your truck.

I've only seen that SR's don't have remotes. Not SR5s with chrome grills.

Ok yeah was just wondering cause that's all that came up in my searches as well. Some dealership fuckery going on when the first owner didn't give them all the keys?

Really weird though because from what I read you only get key fobs with these new? Not this plain Jane key.

Oh also it's a 2.7 with no push start.

 

You have a valet key. Theres 2 other masters with fobs.

This may cause issues with programming more keys.

Well shit. Bought it used from a Ford dealer when I traded in my mustang.

Just one key.

 

You bought it used? Chances are it was a repo and they had to rekey it because the previous owner wouldn't relinquish the key; They don't always get new key fobs made...

 

I was just thinking maybe they had to rekey it. But why would it be repoed to a Ford dealership?

In any case what do you think I'm looking at in terms of cost to get a new fob and program for it? FML at least it has the ability to do keyless maybe then.

Yep only on drivers side and tail gate.

 

Should be on the driver door.

Was also looking up on aftermarket options. I'm guessing I can expect around $300 for new fob plus dealer program?

 

that key looks cheaper than my Walmart spare i had made for 2.50. (non chip)

 

When I bought my CPO I fought with them about the second key, they kept trying to get me to buy it, kept saying it was a minimum $300-400. But that could just be dealer BS.

 

the deal is done so... unless you have some magic bargaining power i would locate the black box showing that keyless is installed and then get some keys online and have them programmed. Some guy with techstream can do it for you.

.... Oh ... I just realized why it feels like it hangs up a bit when I put it into the door or ignition like it's a shit fit. This is all starting to add up to a shit sandwich.

Yep ... Oh well will be worth it. Guess I'm not getting better tires next paycheck after all.
