    I have experienced rain in both of the Dakotas.

    I'm not so sure... There is a lot of manure spread in Iowa, literally and figuratively.
    On a side note, Rain-X is nothing more than a little Silicone oil (monomer) diluted with some isopropyl alcohol and a little glycol either. I use the Rain-X windshield washer fluid. Stupid easy.

    I've never paid that much attention. I'll look next time it rains. We are supposed to get some snow on Monday night/Tuesday morning, but I probably won't go out in it. I'm busy finishing my basement.

    There is nothing ‘magical’ about the rain in Iowa.

    Crops grow so well because a combination of the climate and the geological history of the region. I don’t have the energy to go into a super in depth explanation but:

    glaciers
    prairie soils
    humidity, temps, and rainfall during growing season

    Manure doesn’t just spew out gases into the air. Gases are released through decomposition which is a very slow process.
