    Hello,

I am in search of a 2016-2020 Tacoma pro skid plate.
If I don’t find one by March 5, I’m going to walk in my local Toyota dealer and purchase one.

I am debating whether to leave the pro skid plate as is or paint it flat black with Red TRD letter.
I don’t do any off road.

just wanted to see what people think about black paint versus stock color.

I removed the red letters and bed lined mine, the stock color stuck out too much for my liking.

Here is a pic , it’s hard to see though.

    That’s looks nice
I have the same color truck, same grill, and same fog lights with black bezel.
Black looks good. Now you got me thinking if I should remove the red letters or keep them upload_2020-2-23_20-10-19.pngupload_2020-2-23_20-10-19.jpg

Thanks , I wanted it all blacked out. So the stock aluminum and red letters had to go.

    How she sits today.

@Frsh2df you wouldn’t happen to have a picture of the bottom showing the skid plate?

Yeah I did it myself, I just got the spray paint bed liner from Lowes or Home Depot. It was cheap and easy to touch up when need be.

It’s been on for over a year and still holding strong.

@Frsh2df thats exactly what I want.
I also blacked out everything. My wheels are the TRD 4Runner pro which has the red letters so I was thinking of leaving the red letters on the skid plate

@Rigz22 That would be pretty cool too. There are members on here that also do custom decals and could make your center cap decal any color you want. If you decide not to keep the red.

@Frsh2df What step rails are you running? They look like a great alternative to the Predator tube steps.

I know this wasn’t your question but you can get far better skid plates for similar money to the stock one. I crumpled the stock 1/8” aluminum one with one minor impact. (Whoops) Then I replaced it with a 10 gauge steel version of the original and it survived a second impact but the weak factory mounting hardware did not.

I’m buying a 1/4” aluminum one that bolts directly to the subframe this week. It actually looks better and gives better clearance, strength and protection for the same money as OEM.
