Yea I’ve had mine off for about a year since I did my front suspension, I like the ride a lot better. Doesn’t feel unsafe to me

General Question here, is there anyone in the Auburn area with a garage or driveway I can borrow? I'm from Pennsylvania but I'm down here for work over the next 6 months. I have a 2008 FJ Cruiser with 210k miles. I did a ton of maintenance to it before leaving, but it so happens that now the steering is binding and getting hard to turn. I have already diagnosed the problem as a bad lower intermediate U-joint in the steering shaft, but I lack the space and a floor jack to fix it. Can anyone lend me their garage for a day so I can fix it or point me to a community garage that I can get space at?

How did that guy get stuck going downhill?

 

That was @Brian422. He didn't get stuck going downhill. When he got to the bottom of that hill, it was washed out and the hole was about 4 foot deep! He couldn't reverse back up the hill due to the slick mud, so I pulled him back up. He was actually slowly sliding towards that hole, luckily he didn't slide off into it, I wouldn't have been able to pull him out then. The hill was really steep and I had to give him a couple of yanks to get him back up. Needless to say, that was our turnaround point.

 

Still need to make another trip there....haven't been yet. I'll finally have spare time in March !

Me too. I told the guy that I wasn't in a huge hurry for the tongue to be welded. I still need to buy axle, wheels, tires, wiring, tail lights to have it street legal.

 

I'm willing to help, but with one post I'm a bit reluctant. Are you on any other forums?
