Installed a backup camera today. Since I have a cap, I no longer need the Pop n' Lock, so I took out the lock and replaced it with a backup camera from Amazon.

 

I might do that. theres actually a wire coming off the head unit labeled for reverse .

 

Same as mine. It takes a +12v input. I'm running the camera off of the reverse light bulb. The camera includes an RCA cable with an extra wire in it. I used that wire tied into the bulb wire and ran it straight to the back of the headunit.

 

The 5 lug has blown away my expectations on how much fun I was going to have with it, but I was kidding about my age I am actually 47 last I checked!!

And listen here sonny, if you are 40 you have "started" to age!

 

Check your 4wd relay. That was my problem.

Should be behind the passenger side kick panel. Pop the plastic top off of it and clean the contacts.

 

Always start with the simplest things...

 

I'm guessing the wheels in the front don't spin? When you swapped actuators did you check to see that the collar moves freely? Are you sure the actuator was in the correct position and that you didn't miss the collar with the fork? Did you plug the actuator in before installing to confirm that it worked?

What cap? My POS SnugTop has that thin, rubber flap along the bottom of the rear hatch that covers "not much" of the tailgate. Yes, normally I open the hatch before the tailgate but it is possible (and not really hard) to give the tailgate a good yank and open it even if the hatch is closed and latched.

 

...Each time, as I'd find another turnaround spot, I'd call Ben forward, the steep mountains limiting the distances that even our ham radios would communicate. The entire road was only 1.7 miles long, but it took us nearly 45 minutes to make it to the end - parts of the drive a white-knuckle experience, at least for me.

The view however - at the mine camp - was incredible.
