Sad day. My truck wouldn't start : (
Daily driver. It started the engine fine every day, including earlier same morning, until it didn't.
I don't even hear the starter motor clicking.
Also center console also throws weird errors I haven't seen before.
Battery shows a parasitic drain when i checked w. a voltmeter. Read 11.95v and then towed it back from my coffee shop parking lot in the morning and i checked again, later it shows 8.5v.

Yes, OEM battery. 2016 model year. Battery never gave me any grief until now. The two people who tried to jump start my truck said my starter isn't even clicking or cranking. Said battery seems fine. The parasitic drain bothers me.

That sucks! Any recent electrical work or the less obvious........., rodent damage. Also wondering if you tried disconnecting the battery for a spell and see if the computer would reset?
I'm by no means the person to give electric advice but being fairly ignorant in automotive electrical systems that's where I'd start.
    Pulling for you!

Was about to ask the same. Should’ve clicked over initially with what the battery was reading. If it’s all factory, the drain seems odd.

There has to me some mods in there. Keep us posted OP!

My battery has died 3x times now and it is not even 3yrs old yet with just 50000 klms on it.
Checking with Toyota to see if under warranty.

Not sure that's a parasitic draw or just a battery that won't hold a charge. Dropping almost 3.5 volts in a short time would be one hell of a parasitic draw. Maybe charge the battery up, disconnect the neg terminal and then check it in 3 or 4 hours. If it's down significantly it's a bad battery. If it's still charged up go through the trouble shooting procedure to detect parasitic draws. Lots of videos on the web for how to do that. Or, just take it to an auto parts store of some such and have them test the battery with their fancy equipment.

No, I appreciate any help at the moment. Truck still won't start. I tried disconnecting battery and reconnecting also. Also cleaned battery terminal and re-attaching. As well as banging my starter motor.
Yes, i did a recent electrical mod few weeks back. I did a stage 2 taillamp upgrade. I didn't mention that for fear of being persecuted here for saying that. I love meso mods, but that's all i can think of at the moment. I didn't remove it and try going back to stock because of disbelief and also because truck worked ok* past few weeks.
*two of the VLEDs from stage 2 blew out second week. One license plate light blew out after install. Also after installing, my tailgate won't unlock when i unlock the truck after i installed it.

Will do. Thanks for this tip. Yeah, I thought such a huge drop was weird too.
But the truck did start showing some problems after my recent electrical mod (see last comment). So I think I will start there first, and then go through the troubleshooting one by one each mod and fuse at a time.

If you want the BEST car battery, check out XS Power. They have been making batteries directed at car audio enthusiasts for a very long time, and their batteries are killer. I have a veloster with an 8 year old XS Power battery and it still turns the car over after sitting for a month without running it. I have another one of their batteries that's 6 years old and it's still working great as well. They are pricey, but you get what you pay for.

This is our local, (20 miles) Drive-In. I'm 58 and it has been there longer than I can remember. They done away with the speakers and now the sound comes through your FM radio in your car/truck. You could take a portable radio and set in the back of the truck. I have seen guys with recliners in their bed at the Drive-In. I think popcorn tastes the best at the ole Drive-In. I have fond memories of my grandpa taking me to this Drive-In when I was a kid when they played skin flicks like "Candy Strippers." LOL

If it was me I'd go back to the two VLED's, put the originals back in and start from there forward. Hope it all works out for you!

Sounds like a plan. I think I will start my troubleshooting there and go from there. Truck's still too new for a starter motor to go bad all of a sudden w/o any other obvious symptoms.

Your battery has lasted longer that a lot of people on here. It's pretty much a fact that Toyota uses shitty batteries. If it's still under warranty take it to the dealer and let them replace it with another shitty battery. if not then invest in a decent battery.

That bumper looks great! I’m looking at getting the same one, but with the hoop. How hard was the install? I like the look and also the minimal cutting that seems required.

Also, how long was the lead time when you ordered?
