    Reviving this thread..

Anyone know if a Land Cruiser steering wheel would fit in an early 2nd gen Tacoma?

    I saw this on Ih8mud and ebay...https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/111661037233

You would need to swap everything over, but the airbag and controls all look similar in the LC, Tacoma, and many other Toyotas!

As part of my audio system upgrade, I'm thinking about upgrading my steering wheel to get the extra functionality with the new head unit. I like the Highlander steering wheel.

I'm going to use the Maestro RR for steering wheel controls. One idea I have is to program the DISP menu up & down to control the bass volume. That way I won't need a bass knob.

Found a 2015 Toyota Highlander Steering Wheel and Airbag for $400 w/ free shipping on eBay.. Seemed like a good deal. It took a lot of research to find. The price seemed good for both and it comes with a 90 day parts warranty which is what sold me.

    Screenshot 2020-02-17 at 11.34.29 PM.jpg

This is going on my 2009 Tacoma. I have steering wheel controls so I'm not expecting to have to buy a new clock spring but we will see.

I have thought about getting an aftermarket steering wheel but the lowest price I found was $250 so not sold on it yet. I might just settle for a new leather wrap.

I chose the Highlander over the new Tacoma Steering wheel because the ergonomics are better for my style of driving.

Fits nice and I like the slightly smaller diameter (1/2"). The connector going into the clock spring is different so I'm going to have to do some re-pinning but not a big deal. If your curious, Here are the drawing for the 2015 Highlander steering wheel controls and clock spring.

I did the 2008 basic wheel to 2013 basic wheel swap awhile back.

Love the feel of it and the added perforated areas that match the dash and door panels.......RC so didn't come with the frilly wheel controls and I don't really care to have them, they'd clash with the window cranks, lol. Also tried the leather TRD wheel before that and didn't like it, went back to the urethane 2008 basic one before swapping to the 2013 wheel. CC and variable int wipers were must haves tho!

I know you already have your new wheel but if your interested I have a 2016 corolla wheel on my 2015 and it was plug and play. All the buttons function like normal, it's also smaller than the stock wheel.

That was custom made for you wasn't it? I can't find a wheel that nice off a Corolla at all.

I started with the factory corolla wheel and air bag. This setup was plug and play for my 2015 Tacoma. I bought the wheel and airbag locally for 250.

I then replaced the outer wheel with an aftermarket wheel from ebay for 250. This was jus the outer wheel, I transferred the factory parts over to the new carbon look wheel.

Link to the wheel I bought,
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/MIT-Toyota-Corolla-iM-2014-2018-Carbon-Fiber-look-leather-steering-wheel-SPORTS/112890372544?fits=Model%3ACorolla

I was impressed with the shipping, from date of purchase I had this in 3 days and I live in Hawaii.
