@Ace115, yeah, the "official" start point is down the hill from Montezuma Pass in the parking lot of the ranger station or whatever it is there.

 

Here in Flagstaff, at least, there hasn't been any snow for about a month. Might have some snow in the high country this weekend but otherwise shouldn't be too bad. Definitely plan for pretty cold weather though, I'd expect it to get below freezing at night for most of the trip

 

I started a kitchen reno a cpl weekends ago so not sure if I’ll be free but hope to tag along in the area near Globe. I live in Superior so pretty close.

 

You should come out to camp with us Friday night.

Hopefully we can all get hooked up as we progress along the trail. Thursday gang will plan on meeting the Friday morning guys at the 86 Cafe in Benson and then we can all meet up with the Friday evening guys at the campsite linked above. Not sure on a time or meeting place yet for Globe so if you guys have suggestions, post up.

Assuming everyone has at least a CB. What channel does everyone want to use?

No CB, bring some cheap hand-held radios. I've got a couple that I will bring just in case.

Need a list of cell phone numbers. I've got numbers for @chrslefty, @MR E30, @Ace115 and @Sapnjack. Shoot me a private message for anyone that I don't have.

 

I have a truck mounted CB. No preference to channel.

I also have (4) handheld FRS radios I can bring along as well.

What time do you guys expect to be in Globe btw? Gotta plan ahead so I know whether I'm crashing in phoenix the night before or if I'm driving in from Flagstaff that morning

 

Ok I haven't spoken up yet because I haven't been sure if Ill make the trip but its looking like I can make Thursday night through Saturday. Is there a set campsite for Thursday night or am I better off just meeting up Friday morning?

No set campsite for Thursday night, it will depend on how far we get I think. You might just be better off making the meet in Benson on Friday morning.

 

Ok I might cruise down Thursday afternoon and at least try to find you guys, maybe drive the BDR south out of Benson. If I dont find you Ill just camp by myself and meet you guys Friday AM.

 

PM me your cell phone and keep an eye on the thread for the CB channel. When you get into the area south of Benson (Las Cienegas NCA is the area we should be in), try giving me a call (not sure if we will have any cell reception tho) or getting us on the CB.

I user a 15W Midland GMRS so I should be able to pick up the handhelds. The low power ones are offlimits on my system so if we could do 1-7 or 15-22 for Handhelds?

 

Pick a number and we can use it. Gimme a backup # as well, just in case of too much traffic or whatever.

 

17 as the Primary high power channel and 7 as a secondary low power channel
