Utah members?

For the meet, I am biased towards running a trail, but Little Moab could make for a fun day as well; at this point in the season, trails in the Canyons will be snow covered/impassible much sooner than Little Moab..

I think the challenge and learning experience that could be gained from Little Moab could be quite rewarding; that said, Little Moab seems a little more risky for the health of one's truck.





Who else is going to be attending the Moab trip on Halloween weekend? I will be there, camping out, with my dog.

I copied this from my post in the Moab/Halloween thread: To anyone considering camping: I know a nice camping spot about 20-30 mins out of Moab, which is NOT at a formal campground, it is a very nice spot away from the crowds (if that is your kinda thing); you are more than welcome to camp with me. It is an absolutely wonderful spot, overlooking the Colorado river.

 

Yeah I'm up for anything pretty much as long as it doesnt tear up my truck. I wont be going to the Moab trip during Halloween.

 

So Little Moab then? I'll try to make it. According to Google Maps, its about a 4.5 hour drive for me to get there. Maybe have a pre or post greet & meet party? Or is that something you guys already incorporate into your meet & greets? Anyway, sounds like a lot fun! Hope we can get it together in time.

 

Wow!! 4.5 hours one-way is pretty far!! We usually have a meet n greet before we go on runs like in a big parking lot but its only for an hour or 2 so I dont think it would be worth it for you to come all the way out if your not going to ride with us on the trails.

 

No no no . . .I'd come out on the trials for sure Just saying I would make a trip out of the deal, prolly head down a night early or stay the night of, in SLC. Didnt know if you guys did that too, or I may be the only one with a couple 100 miles of driving time Either way, no worries, Im down with whatever!

 

Haha, oh okay got yah. Yeah you might as well make a weekend out of it if your gonna drive that far. I am 120 miles west of Salt Lake plus whatever extra miles I drive to meet up for the meet n greet then the trail runs so I always put on a descent number of miles on my truck for the meets. I dont mind it though. Gets me out of town and get to hang with some good people.

yeah its the off road package... I guide hunts so i figured i better get the off road cause the roads get pretty shitty sometimes

Does the weekend of the 23-24th work for everyone? We should probably make it on a Saturday, as some of the Utah members are religious, and Sunday's don't work as well/at all.

Either day is fine for me, we could also do something on both days for those of you that will be travelling extensive distances to get here. If people want to do Little Moab one day, we could do trails the other day.

So, if the weekend of the 23rd-24th works (??), I will make a post.

 

Yeah we have all our meets on Saturdays so I think that would be the best day to be honest. I should be good with the 23rd but I will have to check my schedule to make sure. Anyone else up for little Moab?

Maybe you should start a new thread and see what kind of response you get back from people that might be able to attend.
