Cost of the caps and then professionally painted... it wouldn't be cheap. I'd think you'd be in at least $500, but more like $800.

Yeah I don’t know. Maybe they were ripping me off. Half the cost was the plastic substrate block, that is under the decorative cap, which I also managed to damage. Needless to say, I didn’t go for it and ended up justifying the RCI and never looked back.

For sure the entire assembly is gona cost a pretty penny. As a wise @Tacomania once said, no need to buy a bumper if you haven't ripped yours off yet.

Plugged up the sensor holes and dropped it off at Powder Vision for coating

Installed the bumper this last Saturday. It was a simple 2 hour project. Went out to my parents house and my dad helped install. As with many things projects I do with my dad, it quickly devolved to him shouting at me to hand him tools while he grunts and strains with whatever. Now my dad is a bit long in the tooth and he is pretty much blind as a bat. He also has a quick temper/legendary lack of patience and a complex tool filing process which usually involves running to the store to buy a tool of which he has many but we can find none. Also, if we can half ass it with tools not meant for the job rather than waste 10 minutes going to get the right tool on the back 40, then by all means lets half ass it. 4 hours into the project he broke off the self tapping screw putting on the license plate holder. Then he was off grumbling and mumbling the the garage (stack to the ceiling with crap, hasn't seen a car in 20 years). I've been relegated to chief cup drooler, so I took this interlude to install the loom running up to the front of the truck for the Rigid backup lights. Some number of hours later (I think hour 8) we called it job done after searching for and not finding some tapping tools and then by some miracle discovering a set under several years of sedimentary fatherly accumulation in the garage. Love the old fart. He is super smart, but age isn't doing him any favors, nor myself I suppose.

Looks like you took the time to dismantle the stock bumper... It comes off with the license plate lights removed, the frame bolts removed, and then the two protrusions worked out of their little channels. All in all fairly simple.

Finished product looks good. I keep kicking myself for not getting the backup lights...

these rigids are pretty bright. far outshine the S2s I have mounted up top...those to be expected due to the difference in cost/lumens. with the switch pros trigger set up its nice...i can either turn them on with a button and/or they come on when i throw it in reverse.

That's my thinking, wire them up to be turned on with a switch.

Does anyone know what happens if you just disconnect and remove the BSM radar sensors? Do you get alarms or annunciations on the dash?

The RCI bumper has cutouts with plastic inserts if you want to reuse the sensors.
If you just remove them it should put up a light and a warning message on the dash.

I thought this bumper was completely incompatible with the radar blind spot monitoring system? It is radar, not sonar.

If it works with BSM, I will order this up tomorrow morning.

It does, I just plugged mine with steel and then powdered coated. I don’t have that stuff. Bonus is to get the powder coat from RCI, should be cheaper than other options

It's got the cutouts for the sensors. Just plug em in.

Warning : RCI has been shipping extremely fast lately, so be prepared

You are correct, website says not BSM compatible. I think they are talking about the sonar holes not the BSM radars in the ends of the bumper.
