This bumper is back up sensor compatible, but not blind spot monitor compatible. You'll disconnect your BSM sensors and WILL NOT get any warnings. Your switch will quit working... obviously.

Holy shit, this was a good read. Glad you and your dad made a bonding moment out of it. End all, the bumper looks great and already carries some cherished memories.

This thread crops up every now and again. I’ve had this bumper over a year now and not a single regret. I’m surprised how often I use the lights as well. I didn’t think I’d find them that useful, but they are super handy. RCIs factory powder coat has help up. No flaking off or rusting.

    100% satisfied customer.

RCI has the most “OEM” looking design in my opinion.

No harm, no foul. Honestly I regret buying the 2018 truck, but I wanted a manual transmission and the only way to get one was to order from the factory. The dealer is being ridiculous about doing a TSS recall because my tires raise the truck 13 mm, which is about the length of your thumbnail. If I want to install a front or rear bumper, there are all these stupid issues with the radar sensors.

Dude same! Except I don't have the rear sensors (and my 2017 Inferno was t-boned by a guy on his phone)

Some dealerships don't seem to care about a tiny lift, others throw a fit. I rolled in with OR wheels on my Sport and they flipped because the tires are (necessarily) different measurements, but same overall diameter.

Now that I've upgraded they won't even touch it except for Toyotacare. It's ridiculous

Another happy RCI customer! Got nothing but good things to say about RCI and this bumper. Their leads times are spot on, customer service is great, and the quality of the bumper is top notch. Easy install and they do have holes for mounting a license plate. Everything went together quick and easy. Thanks RCI!!!

Yeah the tires are great! Come in a 33x10.5 which is really rare. They are a perfect size and fit for these Tacoma’s. Great in all conditions. Came from owning KO2 and Duratracs. Highly recommend these over either of those!

Selling a brand new powdercoated RCI rear bumper. It is still in the bubble wrap. Can include a new set of flush mount midnight edition SR-Q lights.

$875 for the bumper, $1100 for both. Firm on price. Located in Albuquerque, NM. Shipped at buyers expense.

Did this change your departure angle any? Better? Worse?

It is much better. The bumper angles upwards and the low hanging tow receiver is eliminated. This bumper solved the issue I had scraping the back in most of the situations I end up in, which is mostly trying to navigate deactivated FSRs that have been trenched out.

if you're taking off the stock towing package/bumper...yes..significantly better...like 4 inches or something like that.

Awesome man, looked at these instead of having to cut into the truck. Thanks for the info.

It’s a big upgrade to the departure angle. I don’t think about it much anymore. Still can scrape once in a while, but at least it’s a steel bumper that can be re-painted and not $8000 of Toyota plastic.
