I just installed the 3 disc patriot baffle and it’s the best $20 I’d spent! Sounds similar to the TRD exhaust, it’s that much quieter! I was almost going back to stock, until I read this thread...

I purchased the 3 disk patriot auger last night and plan to install it this weekend. Would you say it cut the noise in half? I've had the MBRP on for 48 hours and it's driving me crazy already...

I hope so. I was planning to go back to stock and count the MBRP as a loss but if I can still get a growl at lower volume I would be pretty darn happy. Looks like it should be installed before the muffler right?

It won't fit before the muffler. I hammered it in the tail pipe as far as it could go.

I gotcha. Re-reading the thread it looks like the 2 fin fits before the muffler, but the 3 fin is too long. Since I purchased the 3 fin I'll plan to put it in the tail pipe as well!

I had to grind the fins down a bit to fit.

Love my Gibson. Check out their product. Nice a low rumble. Zero drone. Great price. Might be too quiet for some.

I can see where that insert would quieten down the sound coming from the tailpipe but i dont see how it would work on muffler drone.

Auger arrives today, plan to hammer it in the tailpipe. Wish I could install it prior to the muffler in case I want to chop the exhaust so it dumps after the rear axle, but it is what it is. Might do a before and after decibel test and report findings!

I didn’t like the look of it in the tailpipe, so I installed the 3 disc before the muffler, make sure u hammer it in there really good because mines started to rattling and I had to hammer it again! Sounds really good now!

Insert made a huge difference! The exhaust tone remained the same but reduced the volume by about 2/3. I'm a little concerned about backpressure, is this an issue to worry about?

I loved my mbrp but just be warned. The aluminzed steel will rust very fast if your in an area with salted roads every winter. I got the all black system 3 years ago and last week i just found the pipe forward of the muffler completely cracked and seperated. Had to cut off the welded nut and bolt to remove the flange. Good thing i kept my oem muffler assembly. Personally i loved the mbrp but i would def spend the extra money and get the stainless steel. My advice would be to wash the belly often if you have aluminzed steel.

Also: i emailed mbrp and they are warrantying the forward pipe and hardware after i sent my receipt and showed proof of damage. They did not mind that i was a month out of my 3 year warranty.
