It’s tight like a tiger. I snugged em up real good with some blue thread lock. They mount up pretty securely

Just remove it. Air dams suck. They worsen the ground clearance. When I get the Sport, it's coming off. Well actually, Tacomas aren't bad. But look at the Chevy trucks. They make these obnoxious low-hanging front-ends with an air dam that have ground clearance as bad as a sedan.

Interesting video, I'm impressed with the work put into the aerodynamics, learn something new everyday. I would still point out that a lot of what was talked about in the video was about stability and noise, and not fuel efficiency.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Why not just leave it? It was designed there at a cost for a purpose. Also does not reduce ground clearance. Look at the truck from front. LCA's are lower.

It’s common for internet noobs who think they aren’t noobs anymore to think that a license plate is inert info, and they’ve got it all figured out and everyone else is just silly. Maybe they don’t participate in internet forum discussions that piss people off...I don’t know. But whatever works for them.

No, the front face of your tires are going to hit most obstacles before your lower control arm does. This is part of what is called "approach angle".
That wind dam is absolutely going to be the first thing to scrape and possibly rip off the truck off road.

...of course you would have known this if you actually used your truck off the asphalt

Please. It’s like a three degree difference in approach angle with the air dam. You can do plenty of “off-road” stuff and have the air dam stay intact. Not everyone has to rock crawl with 35s and a light bar in order to make eye contact with themselves in the mirror each morning.

OP, it is very easily to remove, like 10 screws, and very easy to put back on. Take it off, keep the screws, and I bet you will not put it back on. You can get the TRD skid for a few hundred
