I returned that timing gear today, but Amazon is insisting that I only get Amazon credit to buy something else... Despite the gear being damaged in transit :/

Wonder if the range with 44 gal is any better than a taco at 18gal. I know with the 7.3 it isn't but maybe the 6.8 is

You've already heard my thoughts on it. I'll keep happily volunteering for harder and harder stuff and making changes to keep everything happy and workable. Until some catastrophic happens like another rollover over or massive part failure (frame or something of the like). I don't have any real interest in building a crawler, I like to go fast and camp and mixing the two has been enjoyable and lets me do the crawling obstacles so far as well. Which don't get me wrong are still fun, but I don't wanna go somewhere just to climb some rocks and then trailer home. I'm going bigger and better and the challenge of making that work on the vehicle I like is fun. But yeah it probably wouldn't be my rig for every trip if I had a family, but that's looking less and less likely with every passing day. So here I am building a third Tacoma, with even more comfort in mind than before. And dailying a 13mpg, 2.5ton family carrier. :p

It's not whether or not you could reach it stock, it's also the ease of reaching it. It's the ease that keeps the stockers out usually. The build is for convenience. I could take my Z just about anywhere with a winch but it would be agonizing.
