Hi again Tacoma world! I’ve been away for quite a while since I sold my 99 Tacoma :anonymous: but I’m ready to make a comeback, however I know very little about Tacoma’s now so I need some help. I would like to purchase a used ‘18 and up 4x4 TRD off-road package Tacoma. Anything I should look for on these new ones? Just looking for any tips that might help in my future purchase. Thank you!

Test drive a few and see how you like them. If you are buying used not much difference between an 18-19. What’s your budget?

I would just buy a new leftover 2019, cost difference would be minimal.

Yeah find one that has been molested by its owner...all original oem would be the best truck to buy.

That's doable but you really really really need to test drive a few of them to make sure you like it. They are .... special lol. They are still the same reliable durable truck. They still hold strong resale. Just drive one and report back.

Find another 1st gen. 2nd and 3rd gens are too expensive for what you get.

there is no single overpriced vehicle then a 1st gen Tacoma. Great trucks but are way overpriced.

    Solid advice!
My buddy has been shopping Tacomas, and was dead set on finding a used 16-19. After realizing resale is nearly new, or sometimes as much, he's working deals on new.

I searched for 9 months for what I wanted in the used market. I found nothing but used at new pricing and sometimes more than new! I finally can across a new price that was too good to walk away from. Talk to dealers. See what inventory they will be getting in. They have a list. If you are just kicking tires right now, you have time to make sure you are completely happy with your future purchase.

Honestly why I want a newer one. I was looking at first gens and I think they have gone up in value since I sold my 99. I figured I could spend some more and get a much newer truck.

Personnally I'd pick a year or model that doesn't have TSS.

But some folks think its the cats meow I guess.

But cheaper than the 2nd and 3rd gens. Besides, they are a better truck also. Good luck with your search.
