Another benefit of talking with people at the local shops is that they can help steer you to a type of bike that works well on your local trails.

Most shops also sell off their rental/demo bikes every year. Those bikes can get ridden hard, but at a good shop, the mechanics will be going over those bikes regularly.

I almost pulled the trigger on a new StumpJumper for a local trail bike. All of the reviews had me sold and ready to take on Whistler. Then reality kicks in that I'm old and break much more easily at this age :)

Don't let a silly thing like a number stop you from having fun... just be mindful of your limitations and keep making efforts to expand them. Between yoga, plyometrics, TRX straps, a lot of core exercises, and maintaining my fitness base with road miles; I'm still having a blast at 45 and don't plan to back off any time soon. NEVER.STOP.MOVING.

Sorry guys I didn’t want to read through all of the 701 pages to find this. Do any of you have easy mounting solutions for two bike inside a camper shell? I’ve seen a couple DIY with 2x4’s and fork mounts. Any other designs?

    thanks!

I couldn't agree with you more! I wound up buying a '19 Pivot 429 instead of the new Stumpy because it was a steal. I'm old but definitely not out and have a son that keeps pushing me :)

The forum also has a damn good search function where you can even search for a specific term within a specific thread... technology... damn kids; get off my beautifully manicured lawn.
