If you want the front to be quite firm due to the strong spring rate, you can do that. Or also if you might add weight down the track sometime

Looks good! How's the lift breaking in? Still keeping its height?

Just added a slimline bumper and winch and now want to restore the ride height I lost. My question is are Dobinsons coils compatible with OME struts, if so which one should I use? I still like the medium ride just want to get some lift back.

Yes they're compatible. Need to know what you're using now for coils and what lift height you're looking for

I’m at 23 1/4” drivers side and 23 1/2” passenger. I’m currently running the medium OME spring up front, 2888 I believe. I had to add a leaf to the Dakars so now they are rated heavy and the back is noticeably higher. I was told you have a coil that’s taller but has similar spring rate as my current ones. I’d be happy with 3/4” or so.

2888 and C59-314 are virtually the same specs. If you want more height with Dobinsons then you would use C59-354 coils. They run a higher spring rate and are taller.

About to install c59-314 springs and gs59-220 struts. With matching shocks from dobinson. I ordered spc uca. And the Dakar med leafs. Is there going to be any miss match prob. Like a super high rear end ? I m running just a low pro front with no winch yet. I feel like I just read the Dakar’s might sit me up real high. I can cancel headstrong hasn’t processed yet or shipped. Any advice would be great.

I don't see any issue with this. You might need to remove a rear leaf if you're running empty with no plans to add weight

I do have a bed rack and front runner rack. Possibly 100 max. But I will be loads pavers and crap. So it might work out. Thanks for the crazy quick response. I tried getting in touch with one of your guys to see if you sold the rear springs and never got a answer. I could try to cance to see if yours are better for the needs I want. Let me know

    thanks

Haha great thanks. There’s so much info on here it’s tough to remember everything. Can you send me a pm of what the cost for the rear leaf spring kit would be

Dakars are rock solid choice, but the fact that Dobinsons seems to have a solution for just about every scenario is neat

I agree. The other bullet point of the Dobinsons leaf packs is that they are quiet, regardless of how dirty they get. The dakars I ran on previous trucks are super noisy right out of the box...no matter how much you spray them down.

Another satisfied Dobinson's customer here. My buddy @Brian422 and I installed in his uncle's garage yesterday. Much firmer, but better than stock. Truck feels more planted on the road and no more nose dive while breaking.

I went with the 314 coils, 221 struts and 111 heavy duty springs and 940 rear shocks. Although the 314 coils are rated for 2" of lift, I only net 1.5" in the front. Contacted Mike and after some digging and some investigation, if was found that Access Cabs from the factory are 21" from hub to bottom of fender, when DCSB are 20.5" from hub to bottom of fender. The 2" rating was rated for a DCSB. Had I known this, I would have went with the next up rated coil spring, to net the full 2". Just some information for some future Dobinsons buyers out there.

    Ok, on to the pictures!

    Beefy!

I like the greasable pins concept. Greased up the bushing pins with Moly fortified grease.

The Dob shocks are much beefier than stock!

    Pre lift
    [IMG]
    Post lift, about 1.5"

I got a little over 2.75" of lift in the rear with an unloaded bed.

    All done!

The install was pretty straight forward and not difficult. Took Brian and I about 5 hours to do everything working at a steady pace. The most difficult part of the install was getting the rear leaf packs in. Had to use ratchet straps to pull the axle so the spring pack bolt would drop into the hole of the spring perch. Other than that, it went as expected with any other suspension install!

Despite not getting as much lift in the front as I wanted, I really like this suspension. It rides much better than stock and I was shooting for a super raked stance anyway. I'm always hauling mulch, rocks, firewood and towing either a boat or a trailer full of lawn equipment. With an unloaded bed, it's not as bad as I though it would be on the heavy duty springs. With some weight in the bed, it rides like a caddy!

Just remember that if you own an access cab, subract .5" of lift height for the coils advertised and go up to the next rated coil spring to get the lift height you are looking for!

    Before and after

Thank you to @Crikeymike for all the help! You owe me an air compressor! lol

So without actually having measurements of the before and after, and just eyeballing it, it looks like after a few weeks and about 2k miles, its settled out a little and the ride has softened up in a good way. I will say that i had the bed loaded down with gear this weekend for a camping trip, and the rear didn't squat an inch, where as with the factory leafs a loaded cooler would squat it down. All an all, im super happy with the product and will continue to recommend dobinsons suspension whenever i get the chance.

@Crikeymike Are the IMS59-50220 still expected to be available at the end of March?
