    Yeah that wasn’t really a thing either. Also once phones became a thing, I always expected a phone call if you wanted to make an excuse about being late or something.

    Also, NEVER bad mouth the boss or unit in text or email. That’s just basic leadership. :facepalm:

    What amazes me about the B-52 is that they plan on keeping it in service until 2045! 93 years after it first entered service! I think it might be the best aircraft ever built by Boeing!

    My dad was Navy, my paternal step-Grandpa was Navy, my maternal grandpa was Army, my paternal grandpa was a Marine, and two of my uncles were Army; I am sad to say that there’s no Air Force or Coast Guard in my family :(

    Thats like in the army, artillery gets a lot of shit but in traditional combat, they do the most damage, “king of battle.” I like to remind my infantry brothers (and sisters now :boink:), that they are traditionally called the queen of battle. :D

    How does getting a plane shot out from underneath you and then playing hide and seek with the team sent to pick you up make you a hero? He is used in SERE school as an example of someone who was rescued despite breaking most of the rules.
