Are you kidding me ?? Have you seen the ghastly , useless pile of plastic garbage hanging off the front of a 2000 1st gen. ??, ok the real reason (other than hating the stock bumper) is to fab up a simple , functional, decent looking tube bumper/light bar incorporated into whats left of the original bumper that won't cost an arm & a fuggin' leg that I've seen from vendors here, plus the after market bumpers that I've seen for 1st gens. although very nice & "finished" looking seem too bulky on a 1st gen.
& just way too expensive IMO.
On the 2nd gens , that same bumper fits & looks good, I've seen your fab for the 1st gen. & out of all I've seen yours is the nicest, but there again just too pricey & I'm not saying yours isn't worth the money It's just I want mine to be truly affordable in the $250 -$ 300 range, simple, functional, decent looking.

Lol, thanks Scott :D:D Yeah I was tired of scraping ground everytime I'd go down something fairly steep..

Yeah I understand that and IMO the 1st gen plate bumper can still look better with a little more design time. I actually prefer tube bumpers, or a hybrid-tube/plate bumper on 1st gens though so one of those will be available in the fairly near future.

I agree, a little more R&D & a little "outside the box" thinking. I've seen your products, you do very nice work Eric (that is your name correct?)

& I'm not thinking about going into business but if I accomplish what I'm trying to achieve as far as simplicity, function, looks & affordability & can template it for simple construction, I'd have no problem knocking out a few for members, but right now I'm just concentrating on my look for my truck. Seems I'm the oddball 1st gen here anyway with the Tundra 5100's , so I'll just keep it going.

Like I've told others, the look my truck has isn't necessarily good, it isn't bad, it's just different & I like different......

Thanks bro', yeah a few have questioned what & why I did what I did & despite the fact that I truly do think that the stock one is one of the ugliest, useless body parts they could've come up with, the bottom line was clearance & line of approach issues with it being so low & cumbersome, the bottom was all scraped to hell & well I like how it looks now & when I finally get the tube bumper/lightbar config. down I think those who didn't like it or didn't understand why I went this route will see differently, I dunno we'll see .. (not that it really matters)..:D
