I love Joshua Tree too, along with every other CA desert. I have yet to explore Death Valley though, so that is next on the list!

I do plan on moving back this fall to California, if all goes accordingly. I'll definitely be making more trips to Joshua Tree and the high desert.

Well after owning the truck for almost a month, I made my first interior mod!

    I present to you...the SCOSCHE MagicMount: https://amzn.to/2w857rv

    vegbgdN3TY2qWtna9zu59Q.jpg

This little cell phone holder/magnet is pretty rad. For my last 9 cars I've used the same vent style Wizgear holder. However, with the third gen the vents are a little thicker and aim different, plus I was tired of always using up the vent that blew air to my face.

This little dash mount is adhesive and stick right onto the dash bezel. I wish the magnet was a bit stronger as well as the ball adjusting lower, however I am pretty happy for the $12 I spent!

I will, in the future, upgrade to the Taco Garage system to be able to hold a phone, iPad, and my Baofeng - But until then, I will run this.

Who wants to see my f'd up face?!

I was on a trip in Mammoth this past weekend snowboarding. Now, I've been snowboarding since I was 12 or 13 - Definitely not new to the sport. I was heading down Chair 12 on a tighter section with the lift in sight. I zoned out for a second as I was going decently fast (~30mph). Guy on my left cut hard to the right, and I was forced to move further to the right, putting me in a narrow section with me and the boundary fencing. Needless to say, I snagged the fencing and went flying...landed about 40 feet away from where I got caught and did three standing front flips. Landed on my neck which hurt pretty damn bad!

    4VarOxeFSRmq7XtsgMeIKA.jpg

Broke half my front tooth off and got six stitches in my lip. Those were my only injuries, and I have no idea how. God was definitely watching over me. I am lucky I did not break my collarbone, spine, or suffer even a concussion. My girlfriend and her family watched the whole accident from behind and thought I was a quad instantly. If I was not wearing a helmet, I guarantee I would not be standing. For those who ride, wear a freaking helmet. It saved my life.

Glad you're OK man. How else would we guage the economic value of truck toppers in SoCal on a continuous basis?

I've been using those Scosche mounts for a while. The magnets are plenty strong, the issue is the little metal pads that you stick on your device. The magnets have a stronger hold on thicker material so I always double layer my metal pads and that increases the hold. Never had an issue with anything falling off, including an 8" tablet.

I have 5 metal plates behind my phone in the case  I have a super thick case to protect it from falls, but even with those 5 magnets stacked it doesn't stick super well. I ordered a thinner phone case since I broken mine in the fall so hopefully it sticks better!

Good to know it can hold up an iPad though. Have you tried offroading with it?

Thank you brother! And yes...shell flipping will start once this shell sells. The market for white, black, or silver cab-high shells in so-cal is extremely high

There’s your problem. I put the pads on the outside of my cases.

I use my tablet for nav off-road, but I do use a stronger magnet for it when it do. The ram ball magnet mount is larger and has 3 neodymium mags the size of quarters. Driving on paved roads, the tablets holds fine on the sosche but I have the adjustment knob cranked down.

Put together a video of my old truck...man do I miss that thing! I'm getting a little carried away with these photoshopped thumbnails but it's honestly the only way to grab attention on Youtube anymore :annoyed:

I will try putting the magnet on the outside on the new case. Hope that stops the phone from falling on my knee on speed bumps

Beautiful Truck! I really like the proportions of the access cab. Unfortunately I knew I needed the Dbl Cab seating. Maybe at some point I can afford a second car and switch back to the access cab. I do think it's the best looking option.

Much better w/o that particular shell that you got with the truck.
I like shells I just did not like the look of the ones that go higher than the cab.

    Well, finally ordered 35's!

I bought 5x Kenda Klever RT in a 35x10.50x17 configuration. Excited to try out these tires. Total came out to $879 for the 5x, about $161 per tire without tax.

Now onto picking the rim color! I settled on the FN Five stars in a 17x8.5, just need to pick between grey or bronze. Here's a quick photoshop I did on a picture I photoshopped a while ago, lol.

Next mod are sliders and gears! Can't wait to have 5.29's!

I did. I sold it to someone very close. If you’re referring to that photoshop, it was done a while ago.
