Any tests done by a credible source? Consumer Reports is less reliable than flipping a coin.

They've done a few studies over the years. Including the EPA. I'll try and look up the articles in a few.

I’ve driven with and without my cover and the difference is minimal at best. I use it to keep water and debris out of the truck bed.

I got an MX4 for my taco. Didn't really notice any mpg changes. I'm still averaging 26/27 mpg daily. But it does keep shit from being seen. Out of sight outta mind is a wonderful thing when you visit the city. Plus if you have a bed mat (which i REALLY recommend) it helps that from walking off haha.

23,000 miles with cover on. No notable affect on mileage. Absolutely agree with @Matmo215 about the difference in feel.

You can read just as many that say they increase mpg. Thus, mpg not a good reason to get one, or to not get one.

I Agree. I have one and love it. Keeps out snow, water. Offers some level of keeping contents safe/hidden. ACCESS® ROLL-UP TONNEAU COVERS open or close in seconds.

I was interested because - if needed, I could roll up my cover for long trips ....

Ha! I liked when there snow in my box. It gave me better traction.

As for the tonneau cover. Eh, the gas mileage on these trucks is what it is. To quibble over .5 MPG plus or minus a tonneau just seems almost border line silly. They are easy enough to put on and takeoff as needed if that .5 miles per gallon is really what gets it done for you.

I have one and it is the first time I had a cover on the back of one of my trucks. I like it a lot. With the locking tailgate is sort of gives me a 6 foot trunk. Comes in very handy when skiing or traveling on trips that may require any sort of luggage or equipment you don’t want getting left in the open. In a couple weeks I will be moving one of my nephews into a new apartment. In that case I will just take it off so I could put furniture up in the back of the truck.

Here is an f150 in the wind tunnel, at the end, he says in their testing a tonneau does help.
