Nope, CR250 fits in diagonally with the tailgate up, just leave the gate down if you want to haul more than one.

Where do you attach the straps in the bed to?

I’ve always used the bed rail mount system/cleats without any issues. As said, diagonal for one bike and you can close the tailgate, leave the gate down for multiple bikes.

The floor "D" rings look plenty strong, but wasn't sure about the side wall hooks, didn't think they are strong enough to hold my dirt bike??

The floor D Rings and the Silver ones on the side are strong enough to hold. I've had 2 dirt bikes attached to only the front two Silver D rings with no problems. I've used the bed rail cleats once but they flex/bend a little too much for comfort so I haven't used them since. With 2 dirt bikes your tailgate will be down, but I use a motogate to keep all the other stuff in place.

I turn the front wheels together in the center of the bed.
I use the front bed loops and rear tiedowns.

my son's crf 110 fits with the tailgate up. My crf 230, not so much. Sometimes i feel like getting another crf 110 and doing some mods and keeping it for me, its a fun little bike.

The OEM D-rings and the side loops are just backed with a fender washer...I used them for a while then I bought some real D-rings and attached them to the bed bolts.

The bed rail and cleats are for shit, I used them when I first got it but they were creaking when I cranked down on them.

It's funny, I never see anyone with a bike in a short bed and the tailgate up. I like the look of the short bed better but there's no room especially when going riding & camping.
