My bad, was snowboarding this weekend and missed this.

(Sorry for the photo blast everyone else)

It's a 1981 Honda CB750C, this is how it looked when I bought it in late 2015:

Got rid of the janky rear fender/light/turn signal situation, added in an all in one LED striplight on the hoop, painted it Nissan Orange Mist Metallic and rode it like that for a couple years. Replaced the giant stock battery with a LiFePo battery and cleaned up the triangle under the seat putting in a new underseat electronics box.

Eventually decided it should match the truck, stripped it back down again and painted it Super White II. At some point around here it also got a fresh gold chain and new sprockets. Over this winter I think I rebuilt all 4 carbs, that was a PITA.

Replaced the tired stock shocks with some oversprung ebay specials and gave the rear about an inch of lift

I think the latest thing is re-painting and rebuilding the forks:

Next up is probably tearing the whole thing apart, re-doing the wire loom with an m-gadget bluetooth unit and dash, repainting the frame, and cleaning up the engine cases/paint, eventually

Im jealous of your patience. Also I think we have the same tank, but mine is missing some. Ever thought of painting the fork lowers white?

Yeah yours looks like it's off a CB750 or 900 but not the same year, most likely earlier. Mine has the little wings on the rear underside and yours is flat across the bottom.

Have not thought about painting the fork lowers white, not quite my aesthetic. Eventually I'd like to do a front end swap anyways.

As I was looking around on the new bike, I saw that the oil dipstick is in the frame. Anyone know anything about that? @Sacrifice ?

I still havent done anything. I just unloaded it and made sure it wouldnt fall onto my Harley.

I think step one will be to get the rust out, weld in new plates on the tank, and seal it. Id also need to figure out where to install a petcock if it needs one, and work on a mounting solution.

    plot twist:

I dont think the rear swingarm is a Honda VFR. What other bikes have 4 lugs and a single swingarm?

    EDIT:
never mind. I found it. 1993 VFR750F. So almost all of the info that they told me was wrong/I had to go look up everything

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

I damn well hope so. I should hear back today about delivery. I got the OK to work from home on whichever day it gets delivered. I’m hoping it’ll be Friday so I don’t have to sit at work all day Friday just itching to get home and ride!
