Well pretty much what title says, can I put a bench seat in the front of my double cab? I've got a 2008 if that matters and want to put a bench seat from a regular cab in the front of my DC

You shoulda got a tundra. They come with a 40/20/40 bench seat. The middle doubles as a console.

it's a single piece bench seat. it's the ONLY bench seat for 05+ trucks, unless you can make one from another model fit. only the rear seats come 60/40

ok well thats fine, can one fit in the front of a double cab? is the back of it astheticly pleasing? or uncovered?

it should be able to, the bucket seats match up to the holes on the regular cab, so im pretty sure the opposite is the same. the backs are just covered in a similar material as the fronts, it's not carpet or uncovered so it looks good. if you lived by me id trade you lol...

the only thing though is the airbag sensors are different, so you would need to either swap them or splice them in to get them working.

oh yah and the 3rd seatbelt might be a bit of a problem as well, it mounts to the bottom of the cab and the back wall, so im not too sure how you would rig it to your truck.

and the bench IS non-reclinable. which sucks.

you probably could figure out a way to mount it to the floor, but it would probably require you to drill...and find a way to make sure it's securely mounted. if i remember correctly it's around 4 bolts, i took mine out a long time ago lol.

Thanks alot! I'm have to do some more thinking. I really just liked the idea of my girl ridding next to me and I found a cheap bench but I don't want to do alot of moving and drilling to my truck. I'm keep working on it and see what I can make work.

Btw, you've got an awesome truck, never cared much for the street truck thing but you've got a nice ride

I would assume that not only will you have to lose the center console, but that it will also look weird since the center console connects to the shifter console assembly. So you might have to change consoles, if thats even possible to do?

thanks man! you might be able to use at least some of the holes for the center console to mount the seatbelt, but im pretty sure your going to have to drill.

the truck's automatic right? it might be a problem then, the regular cab's center console thing/shifter sits more forward (like the manuals) than the trucks with center consoles.

Well I thought I could just swap consoles. I didn't figure Toyota would make different lengths for the transmission shifter or whatever you call those parts
