Well if everything holds we are officially a month away. I'll let this go until Saturday and then it's official

So Chris and I were thinking for location could be between the 3 locations. We could try out Earls Ford (the place we wanted to do last trip but settled for Sandy Ford as a back up).

Or we could try Charlies Creek, the only issue with that one is I'm not 100% sure where we can camp there as I haven't been there in a few years. Another down side is I'm not sure of a close back up location. At least with Earls Ford we have Sandy Ford as a back up and possibly Sandys Creek area.

So this is what we are thinking for now, let me know what your opinions are and we can nail down this location.

To tag onto this, really any of these three options can be backups to each other, as they are all within 30-45 minutes of each other. My thought is that we determine the favorite of the three options, and then use the other locations as backup locations just in case.

All locations are next to water, Earls Ford will require a long water crossing, manageable by 2wd (pending weather conditions). Sandy Ford and Charlies creek, accessible with 2wd as well.

I like lake conasauga as an option, not enough room on Charlie's...nobody with 2wd is getting to Earl's Ford, do like Sandy Ford

Ive never been up there so that’s a good option. Is it big enough for say around 10 trucks?

It's a campground...but also has an overflow area away from the main area.

Well that’s definitely an option since I’ve never been. I’ll look tomorrow since I’m working today

Lake Conasauga is really nice. All campsites are on top of each other though and I think it’s like $10 a night. They are strict about alcohol and people/cars per camp site. Still could be an option. Earls ford is doable in 2wd, that’s about all I cross it in lol

I found a Trail up in Soddy Daisy on my last backpacking trip in Tennessee. That’s actually not too far from metro Atlanta. If I can get work to slow down a.k.a. the rain I’ll see if I can’t find the location and put a satellite image up.

However it won’t be 2wd friendly so it’s upgrade time

For those on a tight schedule... Soddy Daisy trail ride can be done in a day? get there and back before dinner? Sounds like a new thread/trip in the making...

Bump! Where we going guys? Earls Ford, Sandy Ford, Charlies or another location?

Also gonna start needing a head count of who you are bringing, what you're sleeping in and what day you'll be coming up.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Rolling Solo (may bring the pup)
    RTT in the Taco
    Friday Morning Convoy

Vote for Sandy or the lake. Earls isn’t better than Sandy IMO.

    I’m in and riding solo.
I’ll be sleeping on the ground, ideally in a tent.
Location doesn’t matter to me, but def need a backup plan.

Convoy on Friday, but prefer closer to/after ~12pm if there’s a later group... We’ll see how it shakes out.
@Built2Ride going early prob best to beat the crowds and snag the better campsite?
