If it's reasonable affordable, then this will take over the Tacoma IFS industry, but Marlin Crawler also needs to be compensated just for his R&D. Sounds like it will be in full production this year.

Right. If you compare this to a fully loaded SOLO kit they are on par with price wise if the 10k is right. Also if you load up a TC, Camburg, etc kit with a tundra rack, RCVs, heimed tie rod ends, etc it gets up there in cost too.

Is there anything official on travel #s? I'm curious about the +2.75 vs +3.5, I know Dirt Designs' +3.5 can pull 16" w/ 10" coil-overs but that requires removing the stock coil buckets

    Probably 11-12 for 2.75 and 13-14 for 3.5

Given that the first post says “To achieve up to 3-inches more suspension travel than traditional +2 LT kits while avoiding the need for Fiberglass fenders.” I’d certainly hope for more than the basic LT #s you quoted

I guess we'll have to wait and see unless you want to just add 3" to my projected numbers based on what current kits pull.

Please update your previous post once you talk to Marlin, that way you will have brought new information to those of us interested in this kit.

I’m fairly certain most of us in this thread know the specs of most existing LT kits, and can do simple arithmetic. Let me do an example for you; I stated the DD kit has 16” of travel w/ 10” coil overs + custom shock cage, so if the 3.5 marlin kit can do that with an 8” CO....that is impressive, or does that give it up to (16+3) 19” travel?

You're not really on point - the post you quoted was comparing a 2.75" kit to a 2" kit and you need to factor in the ratio of track width vs wheel travel on those two measurements so it's not automatically saying that their kits offer 3" over any kit the same width (referencing your projection of a 3.5 kit vs Dirt Designs). Based on the numbers I gave you, a hypothetical 2.75 "traditional kit" makes around 12.2" of travel. Therefore their projected travel numbers for the 2.75" kit which is also stated in the first post:

"horizontal ball joints will enable travel very close to the best 4WD +3.5 LT kits without the negatives of being too wide for technical trails!"

which is not really 16" unless you're talking DD, but for TC race kits, is right around 14.5-15". More math would put the 3.5 Marlin kit at a little over 15.5-16 so 19 for a 3.5 kit with an 8” shock is absurd.

I was (and still am) very interested in this kit, but they took too long for me. Not only that, but the price, while comparable to many other Lt kits if you add in the rack etc, is simply too high to be worth it in my opinion.

Not to mention Marlin's marketing saying they are the "world's first!" Every other sentence is annoying and a huge turn off for me. We get it already. It's why we've all been here waiting for the last year and a half.

It looks like an amazing setup, and I would love to have it. But I can build something 70% as good for 30% of the cost. That's a better option for me personally.

Big Mike said in the video that the +2.75 kit achieves more travel than a traditional +3.5 kit. Take that for what it's worth. But I guess no one will really know until these hit the streets and get some real world information out there.

I think what @Dalandser is saying is that the Marlin Crawler team is not full of magicians and they have to play by the same rules of physics as anyone else. I have seen and cycled a few different companies LT kits that cycle metal to metal well over what the claimed numbers are, but once they are bumped and strapped that number comes back down to what is common in the market.

I'd like to see a little more on how the lower mounts are pushed forward and some numbers for (ride height, droop and bump) Camber, Caster, scrub radius, bump steer and the ackerman changes from a factory setup to the Marrack setup.

Even though I think that Mike's marketing tactics are annoying (claiming they are the first at everything, yawn), I do like to see new versions of things and competition.

The mounts aren't pushed forward the control arms are made so the knuckle is forward. Some of what you are asking would be all dependent on the end user and how they set up their truck.

I got what he was saying. Which is why I added there is still a lot of speculation from this side vs what is known from the use on his truck and steel cities rig. Hopefully we all will know sooner rather than later.

Copy on the lower mount/mounts... as for the setup, I'm interested in the relative change as it the suspension cycles. The end user can adjust some of the static settings, but you cannot really mess with how the suspension cycles.

Yeah if they didn't change change the ratio of the length of the lower arm to the upper the camber gain shouldn't be any different than stock. As for scrub and bum steer that will be interesting to see
