I’ll sell you the whole complete axle if you just want to swap the coilspring seats. Dan has dibs but only on the housing. I prefer to sell complete

Na... id rather notch and make some studs on my housing

than get degrees angles and mesurements wrong to ending up with a u joint angle vibe or an axle that isnt centered

8.4" and v6 8" housings are the same. the difference is the girdles on the bearings. ring diameter is still 8". either housing will require mods to make an elocker fit. but yes your correct.

Well. Good news. Hopefully a future. My Fathers friends are wanting to build high performance dirtbikes again (look up service Honda, the guys that started those monsters they built). If all goes to plan I may be getting into it too.

The guy that I bought my 470 from found this 2000 model LC100 on FB Marketplace a few days later with 219,000 miles for $4,200. He says it has a ding on the driver side door and needs seat covers. The PO didn't keep up with maintenance. It needs a timing belt, water pump, gaskets, and everything that a 20 yo vehicle with 200,000+ requires. He needs to give it a mid-life refresh.

He swapped the LX470 for the Land Cruiser? Didnt want to undertake the LX after all or what was his reasoning?

Also I don't think the bumpers were ever color matched from factory on the Land Cruiser 100s. That could be a big red flag unless he knows why they were painted and it wasn't that it was wrecked front and rear

When I bought mine, the PO said he was going to pay off his side-by-side 4-wheeler. Then I got a message that he paid off the 4-wheeler and few weeks later saw this pop up on FB Marketplace and bought it a few hours later. He had to move fast, because I have a buddy that is constantly watching for used LC100 to show up on FB. My buddy buys them, fixes them up, installs bumpers, shocks springs, then flips them. My buddy was busy and didn't see mine on FB until after I had bought it or he would have bought it.

I don't think the PO could cope with the tilt/telescopic motor issue, instrument cluster, and AHC. You really need TI$ to do anything with AHC.

He did confirm that he used one of the OEM TB kits like we use for the 3.4L which is a relief. I can see where somebody replaced the water pump. That was 20,000 miles ago. Also he confirmed he used National bearings from a local parts store named Crow-Burlingame on the front wheels when he replaced them.

That made me feel good because I found Nationals to be reboxed Koyos on the Tacoma.

I can see how the complexity of a 470 can blow an average DIY car/truck owner's mind.

Anyway, after the sale we're still speaking. So that's a good sign I guess.

I hope so.. If he decides to sell it at some point, I might need another one.

You know how I get hung up on one particular make and model from the late 90s. Ha!
