I'd PREFER V8 power... but if it has to be TT V6 at least keep it simple.

NASCAR was born on simple. I was ok with the EFI transition... I get it. Maybe go as suggested with a sohc or sohc setup... but leave it at that.

    No VTEC
    No fancy boost controllers
Please god... no PDK or Dual Clutch transmissions.

Sports evolve... this is inevitable. Just dont go crazy with the cheez whiz. Set a hp range and let teams figure it out.

If I wanted to see fancy engineering... I'd watch F1(I Dont.)

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Keep the V8's and the regular 4 speed gearbox. I guess people forget the shit show the grand national series was with the V6's.

If you want to change it all up bring back the Iroc series and make those cars whatever you want.

I do think it's time for an updated engine and maybe a 6 speed gearbox like most "stock" cars.

I just dont want all the craziness the open wheel and sport car series have dabbled into.

Modern... but simple. NASCAR is simple.

Modern isnt simple so you get basically a choice... the same bullshit F1is going towards or the old formula...my bet is Nascar will fuck it all up and I'll be watching late models only in 3-4 years...

Remember me mentioning Harvick used to live across the street from our store? Budweiser used to kiss his butt so bad and kept us up to date on the latest sponsor signs, neons, etc. when he went from the 29 to the 4 they came in and gave us a makeover. We got to keep all the 29 stuff, I sold most of it. This is what our store has now. They haven’t changed a thing since he moved. And one 29 light I sold a friend that he hasn’t came and got yet.

Since he moved they don't care. He used to come in from time to time.

Not to be blasphemous but the different series running GT3 and GT4 spec cars are closer to NASCAR's and TRANS-AM's roots than either series is right now. It definitely keeps the "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" vibe. Granted, sportscar racing isn't stock car racing, but slapping blade spoilers on GT4 Camaros, Mustangs, and Supras could certainly be entertaining to watch. Not only that, it would provide an easier transition for different manufacturers to get involved and provide a lower cost of entry for teams.

Don't forget, the cast iron pushrod V8s and four speed manual gear boxes were the norm because that was what was rolling off the assembly lines in Detroit. Times have changed. The sport needs to also.

I love modern Trans-Am racing and wish NASCAR was a little more aligned with what they're doing.

I personally prefer something between current NASCAR and current trans am.

    Updated... but still simple.

Little guy had his quarter midget test at Lanier last weekend. He didn’t hit anything but his marks. Next steps would be getting his own car, going through rookie training and then racing. Only thing between him and his goal is needing about $10k to go racing.

    12’ Trailer
    Car
    Backup motor
    Tires
    Wheels
    Gears
    HANS device

We could get into dirt karts for 1/2 this amount, and get two karts so I could run a class, too. There’s a technical appeal to quarter midgets because they run shocks as opposed to dirt karts which are just that.
