Well, I said goodbye to the Tacoma this past weekend.. it was bitter sweet. I really wanted to try the 2.0 final release, and was set on scoring a set of OV twins to make her scream. With a growing family I needed something that will fit a car seat(s) better.

Anyhow, If anyone is in the cuff, I’d highly recommend OV Tuning for the 3rd gen.

Now, to figure out if Mat has plans to tune the 4Runner..

Thanks for all you have done, and continue to do for the Toyota community @OVTune.

Back in early 2019 I'd emailed Mat and asked if he was going to be tuning the 5th gen 4R and he said that he'd recently had one on the dyno iirc, so I got the impression that a tune is planned.

So if I have a FlowMaster Cat Back Dual Exhaust I should still use the stock exhaust tune correct?

    Yes.

The non-stock exhaust tunes are specifically for the catless and catted dump tubes he sells.

I made an attempt to catch myself up on the latest 2.0 version tune and after reading back 10 pages I gave up lol. Can anyone update me on the latest and greatest with that 2.0 ? I have the 1.05 still and wondering if the 2.0 is ready to try and if its any better than the 1.05.

    Thanks

Just curious if the beta 2.0/5.29 test tune is shareable? Headed to vegas new week for the Mint400 and would like to not have to worry about the speed limiter since I'm rolling with a crew that can all go past 85mph LOL. Im 04B04 dongle. Currently running 19770 and pretty stoked on it. TIA

Advantage & Disadvantages of using dongle?
Dongles pop-up on BST now and again. Would a newbie to ovtune be better served with a dongle version or the non-dongle version?

Personally I wouldn’t purchase any kit second hand for over $100. Just not worth it to me but if there are shortages of kits and you’re wanting it quicker I’d pay up to $200 for the newest flash kit second hand then purchase license for 325 as long as they’re still allowing it.

most likely when you request a license from Mat for a second-hand dongle kit you will be asked to return the dongle and convert to non-dongle p5flash method of download. This was my experience two years ago when I did the same - no issues what so ever. well worth it. Contact Mat at his Zendesk and ask him before you make a decision.

@OVTune how did you figure out the map switching. Last I read it was a no-go due to not being able to find a place that stored memory for the maps.

For AT it will be by mode selection, only way I can right now. (D, ECT, S Mode).

it's the only way right now. If we continue to investigate ram it may take a long time. I'd rather put map switch on the back burner than keep you guys waiting even longer
