Here’s a sad but true situation in my area...

A lot of chain/franchise locations have been closing recently; Many long-established locations have abruptly shut their doors, most recently the T.G.I. Friday’s in Warrington just a few days ago...

The Easton Buffet, also in Warrington and which was a shithole, closed not too long ago due to the owners not paying the rent and a plethora of health code violations...

A Ruby Tuesday’s in Warrington has also closed, along with a Bar Louie, also in Warrington...

Another recent victim is the Steak ‘N Shake on Street Road in Warminster...

Steak ‘N Shake is a chain/franchise that I’d never heard of prior to this one opening, and this particular one only opened in January 2019! It was damaged by a fire just a day after opening, but the damage was repaired and the place was reopened soon after; I went there for lunch once after getting my current job, and while the food was definitely good, it didn’t particularly stand out to me. Whenever I drove past the place, there was always a distinct lack of customers and cars in the parking lot; The drive-thru lady told me this seemingly far-fetched tale about how people would drive all the way from Jersey to this specific location just for their famous recipes...

The one and only time I went to Steak ‘N Shake, that same employee forgot to give me my shake and I had to drive all the way back!

    :annoyed:

worth a look: russian homemade cars

People couldn't always afford the cars they wanted back then, so they made their own...

And due to the supplies and goods shortages, they sometimes had to get creative

This is, or at least was, the Warminster Steak ‘N Shake; It seems to have abruptly closed in January 2020...

As stated above, the place never seemed to have much in the way of customers...

Warminster seems to have reached its peak and doesn't have any new construction homes going up, but the further you get into Warminster, the more rundown it gets...

The stretch of Street Road in Warminster consists almost entirely of garages, auto parts stores, and businesses related to the automotive industry.

Warrington is generally much nicer than Warrington, but in the last thirty years or so it grown from a borderline rural community to a glimmering retail hell! Toll Brothers seems to be buying up all the remaining land in Warrington Township, and throwing up sprawling subdivisions of overpriced, poorly-constructed McMansions on tiny lots. There are also a few small companies building homes two or three at a time on previously vacant lots; These are generally of higher quality than the Toll Brothers homes, but the result is still the same...

Warrington has seen an extensive population surge just in the last decade alone and the infrastructure, especially the roads, can't handle it! The traffic in my area is atrocious, and car accidents have become an alarmingly regular occurrence on Route 611/Easton Road and Street Road.

I just looked it up online; The fire at this Steak 'N Shake occurred in January 2019, and the place did not reopen until May 2019...

That means that this location was not even open for a year!

I am honestly considering moving to Myrtle Beach at some point this decade; Houses are cheaper, taxes and general cost of living are lower, there's no stupid car inspections, and I've got family there!

Possibly Friday; I'm bringing my truck for an oil change and my mechanic may have time to install it...

    I will know tomorrow!

My uncle suggested using called Goop on the tabs to make sure the skins don't accidentally fly off; Apparently, Goop will not make it hard to remove the wheel skins when the wheels have to be removed (tire replacement, tire rotation, brake work, state inspection, etc)...
