I like my G610 Orion a lot for gaming, which is what I got it for, but I don't love it. I keep thinking of giving it to one of my kids in exchange for a better typing keyboard. On the days I work from home, it actually hurts my fingers to type too much on the keyboard. Mine has Cherry Red MX switches.

Before the i7-8700k I had a FX-8350 that my oldest son is rocking now. That thing runs like a champ, and keeps his bedroom nice and warm, too.

I'll probably pick it up tonight. It's gotta be good for a few hours of fun, at least. I mean crap, I'm still playing Skyrim and Fallout.

My keyboard is so old it’s probably mechanical, the keystrokes are a little bit long for me but I’m too cheap to upgrade. I’m also
    Still rocking the PS/2 connection.

Now that I think of it I’m an anomaly in this thread, I have old crap mixed with a Ryzen 5/RX580 system.
Old keyboard, optical drive (that I still use), 60 hz monitors (2 are 1080 and one is 720), and then on the other end of the spectrum I have a 300 Mbps up/down fiber connection, NVME boot drive, 2 1TB Evo 850’s (or maybe they’re 860’s) in my storage pool, and a CPU/GPU combo that will handle any of the rendering that I’ve thrown at it so far.

For being an eclectic mix it does everything I need and more, the only upgrade in the forseable future is an office chair and some modifications to my desk.

I just thought it was funny you said you still had them. I keep a ps/2 mouse and keyboard at my desk and on the crash cart in the data center where I work for systems with no USB support.

You can have my ps/2 peripherals when you pry them from my ... well, okay, when I retire. :)

Ive never considered keeping for instances of no USB support, makes sense.

I think this is the only PS/2 mouse I have left, I was going to get rid of it but I want to keep it for future generations to know the struggle of having to clean the guts, plus it was my grandpas mouse so I’m a little attached to it, I grew up playing Polar Bowler and Fate with this mouse.

I might still have a few of those somewhere. I have an old K6-III machine that still works. I can use USB peripherals once the OS has booted, but I need an old AT keyboard to access the bios.

Ah, the days of gently cleaning mouse balls. Warm soapy water and a qtip to get to the little rolly parts where the fuzz is.

Yeah, I'm still on the fence about it. Metro Exodus also has my attention right now.

Its a decent "middle of the road" SATA SSD. Itll work just fine for games. In the few "blind tests" ive seen done (Linus just did one not long ago actually) there really isnt any noticeable difference between SATA III SSD's and NVME drives. I'd probably go more for a 1tb one personally but nothing wrong with the 500gb one if you think itll be enough for all your games (i only have a 256gb and manage ot not fill it up with games lol)

I might bight the bullet and go with the Samsung 970 evo

That's what I have and it works fine for me.
I'll upgrade it whenever I find something decently priced and I feel like reinstalling Windows.
