Luggage - $800 Value (15%= $120)
Snowboard - $800 Value (15%= $90)

Total = $7389.59

Of course this is worth it, but in case anyone cares to know.

If I am not mistaken (never won much of anything), besides the sales tax hit, there is also an IRS tax hit, right?

 

We used to give away a big ticket once or twice a year when we were doing an event of one type or another.
Had a drawing at a grand opening we were doing and the fellow that won didn't have, and couldn't come up with the taxes. It was embarrassing for everyone and there were a lot of people on hand, so we ended up covering the taxes too..

Guaranteed there are people entering here that could't cover $7389.59


@tonered Never heard of the IRS hit, but I'd be interested to know the answer there.
