i bot a whole new set of belts from camelback, the ones i have on are close to 13 yrs old now and due for replacement :anonymous: decent condition still, no bad cracks or anything real noticeable, just aged a bit, kinda started squealing a bit this past winter at cold startup
will have to find the timmy video on how to remove belts now and properly put them back on with no issues and limited tools

Why not swap the rails from your current passenger seat?

What are the differences between the s-runner and 4runner seats? I have a set of wrx seats in my single cab now and the backs are too thick, looking to replace them.

Could you grab a measurement of the back cushion And headrest thicknesses on the 4runner seats?

The biggest difference is that the SRunner seats came from a Tacoma so they will bolt directly into a Tacoma.
4 Runner seats need the mounts modified.

Any recommendations on a battery? Mine seem to be slowly dying and driving around doesnt seem to charge it. It was find but ever since I replaced the starter last week it seems to have a hard time cranking over. Not sure if its the starter or the battery. All I have is a pair of 9in LED offroad lights to power. One day I would like to be able to install a winch. red optima? Also whats the biggest size battery that can fit in the stock location?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

You can get a pretty good sized battery in that location, if you modify the battery tray. If you stick with the same tray the 34/78 is the group size you want. You could go with a Red Optima or Yellow Optima. Ruffstuff Specialties (and I'm sure there are others) sells a back to back battery hold down tray that will fit two 34/78 batteries in the stock battery area.

Thing is, if you go to an AGM battery you need to make sure the charging system (alternator) is running good.

Red would be fine for you now, but my personal preference is to run a winch off a Yellow instead of Red... the Red would probably be fine (again, just my preference).

I would get pretty much any other brand AGM battery at this point than Optima. Their quality has went right down the crapper. I'm running a car quest platinum AGM which is a rebranded DEKA and I have been very happy with it.

I'm still on the original alternator I believe. So not sure how to check if its running good. But its been charging the battery fine for the most part. My current battery is about 3 years old and it was a cheap $50 rebuild or something like that my friend gave me from one of those discount garages. I'll look into the ruffstuff and red optima.

Oh stop it... There's not a damn thing wrong with Optima. Been running Optima in pretty much all of my vehicles since the mid 90's their quality is no different than it's always been.

I'm running 2 Yellow tops I got off Craigslist because they were returned by knuckleheads that thought there was something wrong with them... They've been putting out 14 volts for nearly 2 years already.

I went into it with pretty low expectations but was surprised. Full disclosure I did kill it one winter because the truck sat in my garage for 3 months straight without me ever starting it. I jumped it, idled for 2hrs and then tossed a battery tender on it and it has worked great ever since.

Yea except you now need a special charger for it, modify the stock charging system.... etc

Yea they were really awesome in the 90s, but now they blow. Especially with all the AGM options out there now.

Lol... I'm still running the same charging system. All 100% stock.

I'll be replacing the alternator with a Cadillac Alt to avoid issues down the road, and help with winching. But as of now, my battery monitors say 14 volt on a stock charging system.

You don't have to have an "upgraded" charging system for Optimas. But as with ALL AGM batteries... you don't want a weak charging system IE a dying alternator, a parasitic drain, etc.

Hey man I'm just giving other options and opinions of what I've noticed in my 20yrs of doing this. Optima used to the awesome, now others are better. No point in paying a premium for a name if you can get better or at least equal for cheaper.

That goes for any battery. I'm talking about the knuckle heads on here who are putting in diodes and all that other TW echo chamber mod stuff.

THAT sentance right there, is where the myth that Optima quality went to shit comes from.

A bunch of other manufacturers started making AGM batteries at about the same time that Optima moved production to Mexico... aaand all the prissy bitches that have to have the newest, latest, greatest, shiniest gadget wanted the new "improved" AGM battery... and decided to go start talking shit on the "original" AGM battery.

Their sales rep on another forum also left a bad taste in alot of peoples mouths.

Like any product if someone else is making a equal or better option for a close price point why not switch?

I'm definately not a newest latest and greatest guy, I ran an autozone gold non AGM for 8yrs until it swelled up winching one day and wouldn't start the truck anymore. LOL!!
