Hi there I am tackling and oil change and I am thinking about what to buy.
I will do it myself so can spend a bit more in parts.
I also need to find the drain plug crush washer for if someone has some leads. My local Toyota dealer is not local at all.
Still working on other things, next one is belt drives want to find replacements for all of them, been thinking about Continental brand but not that successful cross referencing them.
Any leads on all or part of this greatly appreciated

Been running a K&N filter in mine for over 200,000 miles. No issues... and I definately don't even clean it as much as I probably should... lol.

Lol... I thought you were talking air filter too.

As far as oil filter... I only run K&N oil filters. Cause I can grab the top with a 1 inch socket to get it off. Intead of screwing with filter wrenches.

no issues with my K&N filter either and deck plate mod like @Uphillshunter said above. Got mine about a year ago and ~20 k miles without any sort of hiccup. Better throttle response with my 5 lug and a +1 bump to mpgs.

Read the body... you don't actually say anything, specifically, about oil filter.

    WELL OKAY!

    I surrender

My thread has been "dirtied" with air filter issues instead of OIL FILTER issues!

So, what you guys think of AIR FILTERS? hahahaha

(maybe that way I get you to speak about oil filters!)

Well... you don't put a crush washer on an oil filter any more than you would on an air filter.

And replacing an air filter is often done while doing an oil change.

And for the record... the crush washer on my oil drain plug is the same one that was put there in the factory.... 320,000 miles ago.

I don't see the point in overpaying for a K&N oil filter...you can buy Toyota OEM filters in bulk for cheap on Amazon, hell even Wal Mart sells Toyota oil filters for our trucks now.
