These should look good on the extra sticks

It does look confusing but it's not too bad. H/L on the far left, middle is crawl box, far right is 2/4wd

That said, I have been considering some custom laser engraving on each knob.

@Kanyon71 does all my lazer engraving. He does great stuff for us. He just finished this 20" x 20" plate for my pit

If you do this mod, trust me, you know what lever does what. No one needs to know but you. Built in security. I am on the fence about labeling my sticks when I finalize everything.

I’d love to but realistically I’ve never pushed myself to be in a situation where it’d benefit me.

    Damn that looks nice!

lol all of my thoughts exactly. I feel like I'm going to get intimately familiar with them all on this install. And I live the idea of confusing the shit out of a would-be thief.

    Give it time

Parts alone are still cheaper than a front locker and a re-gear

There have been a few times I couldn't figure out why my truck wouldnt go. There are 3 different neutral positions between the tcase, crawl box, and trans. :anonymous:

Finally got the crawl box in today! The original plan was to sleep in tomorrow morning, load up, and head out to NC to install it, the FJ t-case and diff tube, and redo the clutch but I got a call earlier this afternoon for an over night job.

I'll be doing frost protection for strawberries from about 1230 to 8AM. It's a bit sketchy. There's going to be two of us flying two large helicopters over a pitch-black field, close together, with power lines right at eye level running long-ways down the length of the entire field. But the pay is about 4x what I normally make per flight hour and it's cash. So I'm your huckle.. strawberry.

The only lights we'll have will be our position lights and landing lights and the freeze-indicator lights down by the strawberries that change color to indicate the freeze-risk level of the strawberries. They're kind of cool, they're normally about as bright as a 60-watt bulb and they're white when the surface temps are above freezing. As the temp drops they change to green when the temp is closer to freezing but still ok. Then they change to red at 32-35F, they will flash red at anything below that. Our job is to move the air around the strawberries to prevent frost. Using the outside temperature gauge in the helicopter we can find the warmest pocket of air above the strawberries to how down onto them. As you fly over the strawberries, moving in warmer air, you can see the lights change from red to green to white again then slowly changes back repeating the cycle. To me, it's kind of like playing a game all night long: blow it the candles. Or something. Honestly 8 hours of this only stopping for fuel will thrash your brain so you find any way you can to keep focused, interested, awake, and alert.

I've got my GoPro, I'll upload video later.

The white dot in the middle is my landing light. The strawberries are under those white tunnels.

Last night was pretty interesting. On the surface, the ground crews were reporting 30F, at about 20' up my outside air temperature gauge was reading 50F. Hadn't seen a difference in temperature with that kind of spread before.

It's been a hell of a ride but I am on my way! Left home in San Antonio about 1230 Saturday, arrived at my dad's shop about 1030 Sunday morning. Not bad considering I got locked down in Houston traffic and stopped for a nap.

After shuffling things around and going for a spin in his new toy

    (sound on)
    https://youtu.be/Twazhj1FSyU

We unloaded the taco and got it up on the lift

    B42E4817-6049-477A-B72E-250E8744340B.jpg

And started pulling everything apart. We got the driveshafts, exhaust, and transfer case removed and the transmission is ready to drop.

    (@BassAckwards, you da man :fistbump:)

Tomorrow morning we're dropping the driveshafts off at a friend's hot rod shop first thing. We'll come back, finish pulling the trans, check out the clutch and flywheel and fix the abysmal routing of the hydraulics for the internal slave then get started modifying the FJ case to fit the crawl box and do the twin stick mod. Once we get it all mounted up the plan is to call the shop with the measurements and they'll get started chopping and stretching the driveshafts while we finish up bypassing the 4wd computer and trimming out the interior with the extra sticks.

Depending on the shop and our progress, we'll work out the FJ diff tube and delete the ADD while we're at it. Once the driveshafts are done the plan is to

drive it (with open headers!) back to the shop and have them reroute the exhaust behind the krallbawkse.

Time permitting, I've got a few electrical bugs I'm hoping my dad can help me figure out once everything is all said and done.

    We makin progress!

    More to come
