I can comfortably do it at 60, just make sure you engage the transfer case before the ADD

is this for the sake of the transfer case or the ADD system
Curious because I deleted the ADD entirely so my front is always engaged

It’s for the sake of the ADD. Engaging the transfer case first gets the front drive shaft spinning at road speed so that the ADD can engage without stripping the splines on the axle shaft.

Does anyone happen to remember the thread where the guy put a worm gear clamp in his front diff to override the a.d.d ? And then there was another that welded his.

I’m not considering it I just wanted to re read it. But I feel like I’m going crazy because I can’t find them anymore.

I think it is in the actuator troubleshooting link in here. I think you just move it to 4 and disconnect the wire.

Do you happen to have the link to the wires to splice into? And we’re they on the cluster or in the 4wd ecu harness that’s supposed to be the glove box area somewhere ?

I have another stupid question. I’ve checked all of the FSM and various videos and posts and maybe I’m missing it. But I don’t see a gasket being used between the fj tc and the trans. Am I missing something or are you all using etc gasket maker ? Or a Toyota supplied gasket ?

there are seals on the output of the transmission as well as the input of the t-case. No gasket is needed

Am I wrong or is there a cover plate on the Tacoma case where a lever might go? Is it possible to add a lever there, or is there more to the story?

There is a plate. And it does look like that. But it’s not that simple. There is a thread somewhere with a tear down of both and you can see why it won’t work.
