Yeah and if I proof read the first time I typed it I would come across as intelligent and fooled everyone.

Yeah but the spirit of the post is solid. The frame rot truthers are Nancy Campbell busy bodies who think these things vaporize over night.

Mine was inspected few weeks ago & goes in next week for the frame application. I commend Toyota & doing this before the possibility of further issues but this might be the straw that breaks the camels back. I am not in love with this truck & its still worth good money. Probably going to sell it after I get it back. Kinda over the cheap interior, lack of tech, gutless engine down low & poor shifting trans.

FYI... there's another thread "Frame TSB" that covers the above subject with allot of similar info. I received the "letter", stopped by the dealer last week and was told another letter will be coming out with "what's next" in our area.

    Working on it ...
I live in the north east. In the winter if there is a dark cloud in the sky chances are they are either brining or salting whether it needs it or not.

I had my 2002 TRD called in twice for corrosion recalls once on the frame and once on the spare tire well. Both times they said everything was OK and they would just spray. I had my 2002 TRD called in twice for corrosion recalls once on the frame and once on the spare tire well. Both times they said everything was OK and they would just spray.

About three or four years after the frame recall my right rear shock mount completely rusted off the frame and end up punching a hole in the bed of my truck. I bitched to Toyota and they said sorry there’s nothing They can do about it even though I sent them pictures of other holes I found in the frame. I ended up welding the shock mount back to the frame and it was fine, Other than I was afraid to put heavy loads in the back or do any heavy towing with it.

More than just a little annoying that Toyota is still having frame rust issues after all these years. Not sure why they don’t just spray them on the build and Chynna get away from constant frame rust/rot recalls.

I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out why Toyota just doesn't hot dip galvanize these truck frames. It's not like it costs a whole ton more to do this to the frames during mass production prior to assembling them. Hell VW does it, and those guys build garbage.

I seen the back of my dealers copy of the work order and they bill Toyota 1100$ for the CRC Sauce Job.

Had mine inspected last week and they looked at it and said the coating they apply is for northern states so they would not be applying it to mine. I said hell were in Iowa can’t get much farther north.. he laughed and said it was fine and sent me on my way. He did say I could bring it back later if I thought it started to look bad.

As a Minnesotan, yes you definitely can lol. I have a 2017 and the dealer I go to has said so far there is no reason to be concerned. I plan on double checking in a month or so when my sliders show up and it's warm enough to crawl around under it without freezing to death.

Probably not. I am just not feeling the mid-size truck thing as a whole. A Colorado wouldn't change much. I miss having a vehicle that doesn't need to drop two gears to go up a gradual hill with a slight breeze. This truck was a compromise for me & I thought i was okay with it. After two years of ownership, lots of unreliability I find myself wanting to sell it.
